The thing I don't understand is why the game wasn't on ESPN3? I know a lot of people who didn't have Cyclones.tv were expecting it to be, especially because there have been other MC22 Drake games that were on ESPN3 this year.

Wasn't it Fran and Iowa that really got the ball rolling, on stopping the way it was played. He was vocal about not wanting to play at UNI from the start. Iowa lead it and ISU went a long with it. ISU was willing to play UNI in Ames but UNI didn't want to give up the home game in Cedar Falls, because they thought their program was better than having to give that game up. So the Classic was formed.

This is correct. Barta picked up the phone and called Pollard to start it.

Well this article doesn't address the marginal seating that the Well provides, that's the biggest reason I dislike going there and haven't attended this event. I would like seeing all 4 schools play but not enough to go to the Well.

Pretty sure this is how it went. Iowa cried, ISU didn't oppose, honestly it wasn't a good setup for the best interest of ISU to have a home and home. Just like ISU still doing home and home with programs "beneath" us like Toledo and Akron. Only the UNI/Drake were annual games that didn't benefit ISU.

is this a shot at the football side? If so I hope you know Texas did a home and home with Wyoming and OkSt did a home and home with CMU.

I will never understand these complaints. It isn't Hilton but Wells Fargo is a really nice place. It is better than the United Center and it keeps improving.

I don't like it, I've been to plenty of multipurpose arenas where the seats don't seem so steep and you don't feel so far away. It reminds me of where Bradley plays, Carver Arena, it seems like there just isn't a legit good view to be found.

Lol wut? Better than the United Center? I've now heard it all. I've been to WF many times & the UC more, this is the worst comparison I've ever heard. Is Jack Trice = Lambeau, Soldier, or any NFL stadium in your eyes? While I'd rather personally experience JT & ISU to say they're equal is so dumb

Probably better than where the jaguars play

We went to the NCAA tourney and the teams were awesome but the environment was stale. Been to the Big 4 and the environment is still stale. I've been to dozens and dozens of NBA games and almost every one is more stale than Hilton. At WFA the end and corner seats seem really far from the court because it's a multi-purpose venue.
The building is nice of course but the environment is not. Not sure how you can deny that.
