Chris. Good stuff at 2:00 AM. Sure wished the coaches would have Purdy roll out more. Would give him and receivers more time to get open, on broken down coverage.

Has anyone got a video on the FIRST on sides kick. Coming off break, seemed to have gone by so quickly.

One thing about Assalley - one of the kicks he missed, the 48 yarder, should have been like a 28 yarder had they not had a ton of penalties. He makes that kick, and 48 is basically as far as he can kick it. Put in a terrible spot by his offense.

There was just the intentional grounding penalty on that drive when Purdy got sacked. If there was no sack there, it's about a 32-35 yard FG, and Assalley missed a 33 yarder later on.

However, that drive was the difference maker in the game IMO. We had a chance to be up 14-0 right there, and we got nothing. After Hall's 70 yard run, we took a timeout, incomplete pass, 4 yard run, sack, missed FG.

Campbell was livid about the grounding penalty. Pointing to the jumbotron and begging the refs to reconsider because Hall was downfield in the direction of the ball. However, there was a linebacker between him and the where the ball bounced. I think that is why the ref made the call. I would love to be able to hear Campbell during this interaction (and afterwards talking to other coaches).

The timeout after the 70yd run was a real head scratcher... Anyone see any reason for it?
I think he thought Gundy needed more time to see he just got owned on that play.

Just had a crappy thought, Kleinman at K-State just went 4-0 in conference in only 3 years time. And ISU has never been in that position ever, in our history.

Classic ISU I guess.

Hopefully this team gets back on track by destroying KU next week. The goal to get to the CCG is still there for ISU. Just keep it going 1 game at a time.

And if ISU were playing KU yesterday, we'd be 4-0 as well. The 4-0 start thing is a function of the schedule, not a great metric.

I think he was exchanging gardening advice on a recommended fertilizer. If my lip reading was accurate, he passionately and repeatedly recommended bull "manure". ;)

If it makes you feel better, Narveson the former ISU kicker now with WKU, is 5-5 on this season with a long of 53 yards. He's also 13-13 on PATs. He was the 12th rated kicker nationally coming out of high school.

Assalley is 5-8 with a long of 35. He is 16-17 on PATs.

Does WKU have a special teams coach?

OSU also missed a FG so if we're playing what-if that should be in the equation as well... And Gundy played for a FG late in the game rather than press for a TD because 10 points with a minute is usually safe...

I'm not playing the what if game. I'm saying we had all the momentum after that first big run by Hall, and we lost it all by not scoring.
