4 Down: This 3rd down conversion defense crap is never ending. We got to do something different instead of 3 rush, 8 back. Mix it up. Can we go man maybe a few 3rd down trys per game? Or are our guys not practicing it and will probably fail? We didnt rush more than 3 all game either.

Few thoughts:
1. Destroy Kansas next week
2. We could easily get on a W streak here. Kansas then Baylor (who we can agree is down this year), then a massive game with K State. K State has a running game but no Skylar Thompson - I like our chances against Cats. Toughest game left on the schedule to me is in Austin, Herman could very well be coaching for his job there
3. Here's what concerns me about the offense. We seem to get stubborn in rolling out the same formations, same similar plays, with little creativity. If the 3 TE set starts to stink it up in passing situations, we are allowed to go away from it! Try a 3 or 4 WR set out wide. I am not impressed by the year Manning is having. We are where we are due to awesome defense yet again, and a very solid ground game. Heacock is constantly adjusting mid game to account for the flow and opportunities, we need more of the same on offense. I'm not sure if a mid year review is needed where Brock tells that staff what he needs more but something needs to change. It's my opinion we need to incorporate more swing pass, screen pass, quick crosses and slants in the middle. Maybe Oklahoma State's guys just were that good on D, maybe I am not factoring that in enough...
4. Did I say destory Kansas? Our pass offense has a MASSIVE opportunity for a "get right" type of game, make it happen boys

Just had a crappy thought, Kleinman at K-State just went 4-0 in conference in only 3 years time. And ISU has never been in that position ever, in our history.

Classic ISU I guess.

Hopefully this team gets back on track by destroying KU next week. The goal to get to the CCG is still there for ISU. Just keep it going 1 game at a time.

Isn't this his 2nd season? And didn't he get left with at least a little more foundation than CMC?

Yes, his second season. K-State was set up for some success last season but knew this season was going to be rough after losing a TON of guys to graduation. Oh wait, it's not a bad season. Well coached team with an emphasis on special teams, running an offense tailored to your players and solid defense. ISU covers 1 of those three bases.

Never ending? Tech was 0 for 10 on 3rd down against us.

I stand corrected. Bowman was terrible but a great game for the D. I don't know the stats but our 3rd down and long defense relative to our overall defense is got to be near the bottom. Frustrating when we stuff 1st and 2nd down to be 3rd and 7 or more and they complete it. It would be nice to mix up a blitz or man-to-man so that the QB has to think instead of being comfortable of knowing what D the Clones will be in. The corner blitz against Oklahoma is a good example.

Hines just posted a stat.. Iowa State is 1 for their last 4 on field goal attempts and one of those was blocked and returned for a TD.

Chris. Good stuff at 2:00 AM. Sure wished the coaches would have Purdy roll out more. Would give him and receivers more time to get open, on broken down coverage.

Has anyone got a video on the FIRST on sides kick. Coming off break, seemed to have gone by so quickly.
This is why I hate going shotgun all the time. Play action in the shotgun is a joke compared to play action under center. Gotta make those 8 guys in the box respect the run and use the play action to get guys some separation.

Don't know if I agree with that. Purdy led the country in PA passes either last year or the year prior. It's been different this year when we've only had one true WR to consistently throw to (Hutchinson). Our TE's are usually wide open when going PA. We have to have other guys step up in the passing game besides X and our TE's.

Oklahoma State was running 5+ guys at Purdy all day long, were constantly in his face, and when Purdy throws one of his best balls of the day with pressure, Kolar drops it.

The fact of the matter is that we were bad overall in the passing game against the best defense in the big 12 and top-10 in the country, yet we were still in the game at the end. We also missed two FG's and had two drives get stalled out due to offensive line penalties.
