For question 2, if you're looking for the university release, I'm guessing that they're either:

A. Trying to figure out a way to do damage control within and around the announcement

OR

B. Deciding what the response should be (to the obvious coaching issues) so that they can annouce that too

OR

C. Trying to talk him out of it
