Nice young man. We saw him sitting outside the performance center after an early football game as we were walking that way to the car. At that point one of the few basketball players we would recognize. My husband is awkwardly elbowing me and pointing and I am just rolling my eyes and hoping he doesn’t bother George, who kind of laughs and waves and says “hey.”

I can’t take my husband anywhere.
This sounds like something I would do. Can't take me anywhere either.

All the more reason not to overreact to the game last night. I get that most of the guys were one year players, but this has been a huge year in their lives, 4 years in the case of George.

Senior night can go a lot of different ways, but guys are typically going to be less than locked in to the details of the game. About the only positive of senior night in performance might be a team that doesn't play hard or play defense getting that extra juice to do so. We know that's not really a problem with this team, so it probably just had that way to juiced up and distracted.

While I don't think ISU gets the win, I think you'll see a locked in ISU team at Baylor.

I have five sons, with the youngest graduating from ISU this spring. Four years is a large sum of their lives at this age, considering memories of early childhood wane quickly, and I am sure George has additional ones with his dad. They become adults when they leave home. But people here accuse you of “helicopter parenting” the players when you express care and concern for these young people who have worked so hard to entertain us. Forever true, George.

Seen enough personal accounts from peeps on CF about nice interactions with him at football game etc (pictures with little kids and all) to have a big like for this Cyclone.

:)
Totally agree...he always gave a wave and wandered over to our tailgate to say Hi and shake a few hands...great ISU ambassador.
