...thus far anyways.

The increase in revenue (plus payouts) and trading A$M and MU for TCU and WVU will facilitate ISU's climb. Not to be greedy, but it will get even better if the Big 12 adds more peer schools that are farther away from Texas (Louisville/Cinci/BYU) and goes back to an 8 game conference schedule.

Anyone recall when one can order new season tickets? Too bad you cannot order today-with the excitement of the new contract for CPR and Co I'd probably buy two more than normal. Considering how much I follow ISU football, they are so cheap. I spend more in a year on crap I get no long-lasting joy out of.

not that im looking for easier wins. I am just anxious to see what the schedule even looks like lol. I like the thought of maybe WVU being our end of season rival with Mizzou leaving to the SE-puke, and K-State taking over those duties with KU.

I made a similar comment earlier about TCU and WVU being easier than Mizzou and aTm. I'm not sure of the OP's reasoning but I am not looking down on any of these teams, I just think Mizzou and aTm are tougher opponents. Might be my B12 bias...

I think (hope) TCU might struggle a little initially a la Utah.
West Virginia I think will probably be at the same level as Mizzou.

I am not simply referring to teams, but athletic departments competing in the arms race of college football.

MU is the lone FBS school in a state with a much larger population and closer to Texas. They were replaced with WVU, which have has as good of program as MU, but is similar in size and resource potential as ISU...and is farther away from Texas.

The only aspect CU is A$M's equal is in location. They have had better coaching with Patterson. TCU is currently a good program, and given the location will always have talented teams.

Add Cinci/Louisville or BYU, and athletically it would be a bit like ISU had joined the Big 10.

I think we kick *** next year. Paul Rhoads don't give a ****

I keep hearing people say that TCU and WV are on par with Mizzou and Texas A&M. Flat out crazyness. TCU is a mid major that has benifited by having a great coach (who may not be there forever) and a schedule that allows them to rack up wins and impress Texas kids. It's going to be much harder for them to get wins and maintain momentum in this league. TCU is just another Tech once they get in this league.

West Virginia...classic big fish in a little pond. A state that is smaller than Iowa. A school that has to recruit much of it's players from out of state. WV is a school that has built it's reputation by beating up the big east and getting great bowl games out of it. That's not going to happen in the future. They are not going to have those BE teams to beat up.

Haha, if there was a Honey Badger of coaching it'd be Rhoads.

"Oh no is that #2 ranked OSU, Paul Rhoads don't give a ****."

I was thinking the Big 12 was waiting to finalize the new schedules in the off season?

This is what I thought as well...

Id have to think that WVU-ISU will take the end of year rivalry game instead of K-State. Therefore having K-State-KU finale for them.

It at least seems like the logical thing that the XII would do.

Even with 12 teams (if we ever get there) there is no way we get back to an 8 game conference schedule due to TV contracts.

Eh, you have just as much (actually a bit more i believe) inventory with conference games if you have 12 teams playing 8 games than 10 playing 9, plus you'd have more space for good noncon matchups to add to the inventory as well. Play 8 conf games and require every team to have at least one BCS noncon.

My guess- we run in 2012 with TCU in TAMU's schedule, and WVU in missouri's, just for convenience's sake, especially with the short timing.

For 2013 we may shake up the schedule again, id rather not though, as i dont want another situation where we miss playing teams at home forever. Its been ages since we got a crack at KSU at home.

This makes the most sense to me as well. I fully expect WV to be the end of year rival for ISU. KU-KSU is KU's only real conference rival besides what little they have with us.
