My Directv commitment is up in September. I am considering dropping it and buying a tivo to record over the air then using netflix for other shows that are not over the air (a season behind, but thats ok).

My wife pointed out that we will miss out on several ISU games in both football and basketball. I have season tickets for basketball, so it would just be road games. What alternatives do i have to see the games without going to them? Are they all on-line somewhere?

Nearly every football game and major (conference) bball is available on some websites... They are not 'legal' websites by any means, but they exist and are numerous. However the quality is not always great. Some games may be available on ESPN3 or WatchESPN, if you happen to have those through your internet provider.

The way I look at it is the cost of watching a few games at a sports bar is a lot less than the cost of cable for a whole year
