Breaking news: He changed his twitter profile picture.
Not sure if it means anything but saw on his twitter he hash tagged "#stillreppinOSUfromheadtotoe"... Is there ANY chance he decides to stay with the pending new head coaching announcement?
He has in fact committed to ISU.

The thing I like most about Cooke is that he's leaving a situation where he would be a starter and a focal point of the offense and coming to a place where he will most likely be battling for minutes off the bench. I'll take a guy who has the confidence to earn his minutes rather than a guy afraid he might not get enough playing time because of the depth at his position.

Fran's problem last year is that he beat his team into submission. We'll see if he learned his lesson. It appeared that maybe he realized that he was pushing too hard towards the end of the year. We'll see if he can change his natural communication style though. Not saying it's right or wrong, but that approach doesn't work as well today as it did 20-30 years ago.
I haven't watched a ton of Iowa b-ball but two of his major problems (from what I've seen and heard about) in my opinion:
(To a lesser extent) over-reliance on player development vs. recruiting players who can play right away.
(His biggest mistake, in my opinion) the whole "beat them with depth" philosophy, which probably worked at Sienna, but not at high-major ball. He over-emphasizes keeping his players fresh, seldom rides a hot hand, seems to sub-out "hot" players for the sake of rotation, also sounds like he played favorites with seniors (McCabe), and players he promised playing time to (Woodbury over Olesani early in the year).
Certainly not a recipe for success.
He'll be starting
Because you think like Fran.Eventually more than likely yes.. He won't start at the 1 so he will have to battle Thomas, Naz, Sherron and Custer for the two spot. I don't understand why every one thinks that transfers are locks to start.

I'm to blame for this one as I started it with my original comment. I'm all for a few hawk sarcasm comments here and there as I like to throw out a few myself. However, my hope is always that mine and other's comments can just stand alone (maybe with a few likes) and not spiral into a big hawk-bashing fest/debate in a thread topic that has nothing to do with them. Guess I've learned my lesson that they can't, so maybe I'll have to refrain more in the future.
