I've seen security wall off the hand shake line pretty quickly before. I guess they weren't quick enough this time around. I dont think court storming should be banned but I have no issue going after folks like that one guy who targeted Traylor.

Honestly don't understand why some of you think thats funny. Imagine Fred getting smashed up against a wall, especially with his heart problems.

This is on the k-state security team in my mind. I have worked at arenas, and anyone with half a brain cell should have prepared better for a rivalry game for a court storming.

They need to ban the court storming. Easy way, if you storm the court and caught, you are thrown out of school.

One of these days it's going to get out of control and a fight will break out.

If I was fred and knew the court storming was coming, I would call timeout with 10 seconds left and take my team off the court and to the locker room.

So were Kansas coaches and fans furious after they rushed the field only a half a year ago against Iowa State and started chanting "we want Bama?"
But since it's football, it doesn't apply to those ******** probably.

Big difference. KU coaches and fans are mad that they and their players were attacked and mobbed. Not so much at the court storm itself.

It could have happened to ISU coaches and players, might not have.
Didn't Holly Rowe report there only ever been one court storming at Phog? And that K State fans do it to Kansas quite often?
I just find it ironic that quite a but of Kansas fans think they are above that but will do it at other sports.

Not attacking your post Chuck.

I don't think the players being in danger is the problem. It's the fans instigating that can become dangerous. That kid that ran into Traylor is lucky he isn't in a hospital right now.

That being said court stormings are one of the things that make upsets so fun.

Yeah, who the hell looks at Traylor and thinks running into him would be a good idea? Guy could have just destroyed him without breaking a sweat.

I think she said the only time KU fans stormed the court wasn't even when there was an actual game at the Phog, but when the Phog hosted a game watch for the 2008 championship game between KU and Memphis.

I'm very thankful that this is the purple kitties and not us. If this were ISU, I would be very embarrassed. I thought it was awesome that we didn't storm the court when we beat KU. I don't know if storming should be banned or not, but it definitely can be dangerous to players or coaches--and even for fans.

this isn't true. A few fans stormed the phog in 2003. After a win against #3 Texas.

Fine the school if if the have bad security.. Ala last night at ksu. I see some peoples point.. We don't really have to worry much about it in hilton, but when our team goes on the road, would like security to do there job.. I get where self is coming from.. Two years in a row bad job by ksu security.
