It's not a good sign when your only supporters seem to be Denny from Clear Lake and Cyclone Jerry

The usual callers...and then weird callers that act goofy instead of just asking a direct question.

Based on the this message board, I though a lot from the "if you could ask one question" thread would call in.

I think that thread assumes you'd get an actual answer, not just dismissed\hung up on\screened out etc. Calling in would be a waste of time

"Paul, Those bye weeks must be a big help to you. You do not lose on a bye week."
"Yeah, it lets us gameplan much better as we can find fifteen plays to ****** the start of the next big home game. Let's us come out like rockets in that first quarter."

"Paul, how are those slug of injuries coming along?"
"Oh the staff is healing well and we may get some players back before the end of the season."

"Paul, how do you like the B12 refs?"
"Ask JP."

"Paul, How is that running game going?"
"They're running. Like to see a little more development and foritude in our running game. Maybe pick up a first down or two."

Coaches shows are a waste of time. People as the such stupid questions.

Hey coach, I have watched football a long time and what wondering if you could go over the kick off rules.

Hey coach, How do you decide where to put your put returner if the other team punts. Why does he always call for a fair catch. What is the fair catch rule about anyway.

Hey coach why do WRs look at the refs when they line up.

Coaches shows are the biggest waste of time ever invented. I'd rather streek through the quad than actually call into one.

Cyd, please let me know when you plan to streak the quad. I have a great camera with a quick shutter. Those photos could show people how an elusive runner with great moves polishes his skills. Besides they would get a laugh out of you faking the Keystone cops out of their jocks.

Are you saying that in order to get answers to my most burning questions, I should have been listening to the call-in show?

I listened a few weeks ago and people were asking questions like that. I just shake my head at the questions. One guy asked if CPR could explain the touchback rule. You always get the question on the 4th string walk on from name you small town Iowa.

I never listen to the coaches show, but I happen to be at Applebees one time when Coach Mac was still here. One guy called in to let him know that kids playing football on the hillsides might get hurt bc a sprinkler wasn't covered. It was painful to listen to, but I had a little more respect for Coach Mac for not going off on the guy.

There are those questions, but along with the waffle come some good ones, on occasion. You can practucally hear CPR perk up when he gets one.

One that I liked last night was one caller who simply asked where the holes for next season were, that they were trying to fill. And CPR gave a quality answer.

When shows (radio or TV) get to the call-in portion I change the channel. People go on and on about stuff that doesn't matter or they think they are funny by acting weird. Terrible radio IMO.

Don't leave us hanging. What was the quality answer?

Yeah, some of it is really painful, but there are good things. I tend to DVR it and fast forward through the questions and just listen to the answers.

It's kind of funny how someone referenced a question about kickoff rules a few weeks ago as a reason why it is bad. I actually found that question and answer interesting since I don't know some of the rules of football. In fact, I got to pull out my knowledge at the game against Oklahoma. Rhoads actually does a good job explaining things like that....you can tell that he is a good teacher.

As with all things, if you want better questions, call in and ask them.

Yea but is that the point of a call in show? To explain rules to people who don't know them? It should be about insight to things within the program, letting questions about the rules of the game is just screening calls for soft balls to throw to let CPR knock them out the park. Explaining simple rules of the game can be done by anyone, you don't need FBS head coaching experience for that.

Soft ball questions.

Coach, are we going to score?
Coach, will we have a full team?
Coach, tell us about TT.
Coach, what happened to that Texas recruit.
Coach, will we have a nice Thanksgiving?
