To me, this has nothing to do with Sam vs Lanning.

This has to do with recruiting a stud in Allen Lazard. A 6'5 beast. You recruit him to be a difference maker on your team. Well, he had single coverage, Lanning made the right read and let the STUD go make a play. He did and turned it into 6.

Instead of simply saying it was a great play by Lazard, he says it's a pass that shouldn't have been made. Why?

This is right. Anytime Lazard has single coverage you throw it to him unless Deon Sanders is covering him. For god sake, the whole damn gameplan should be to get Lazard into single coverage and let him make a play. What worlds are we living in here? The guy is our biggest recruit in years, a pro receiver down the road and we are scared to throw into single coverage? Has everyone lost their minds? You just can't wait for guys to be wide open at this level, it isn't going to happen unless of course you are playing us.

This is crazy. Total madness.

"probably not a ball that should have been thrown."

I thought is was a good back shoulder pass to our best receiver who then made a heck of a play to shake loose for a td.

I cant get over this statement. This is as dumb as the colts play from last night. Probably worse. So furious the entire staff hasnt been dumped already.
Sam Richardson, Im sorry I blamed you for the coaching staff being freaking idiots. After this comment I cant even look at CPR.

I agree that Herman isn't coming here, BUT we didn't fire him. He was hired away by OSU. Though I know a lot of Cyclone fans wanted him gone at the time.

Well, you know, he wasn't that good. OSU was only good offensively because of Urban. Once Herman left, they actually just took off offensively.

Uh, no. They asked him about that particular play. He answered about that particular pass. It wasn't an answer about pass plays in general. It was about that particular 70-yd TD pass.

I meant, CPR didn't think the pass should have been thrown at the time.

You know, one of those "no no no no . . . YES!!!!!!!!!!!!" type of plays.

I didn't hear one thing that said, implied, or even hinted that they benched Lanning because he threw that pass.

Maybe I should rewatch the pressers.

So why didn't CPR throw Sam under the bus for that god awful interception he threw the very first series vs TT? Or dozens of other throws. Like the left handed toss for an I teceprion while running out of bounds vs Baylor last year...I could go on.

Anyone else waiting for Hoiberg to dial in to the call-in show this afternoon and deny the story?

This. THIS. THIS.

We're witnessing a regime's (figurehead leader) descent into madness.

The whole gameplan should be getting Lazard into favorable situations downfield, with enough horizontal passing and zone rushing with Warren to keep them off guard.

He's so deep in bunker mentality he can't keep from making insanely ridiculous comments. It's a ride to Crazy town at this point.

I feel sorry for the players to have to deal with this crap.

I am in total shock of how bad Paul has become. Use to be the guy that would stick up for his players and now seems like he wants to bring them down with him! Good riddance.

For the next coach that comes in, I think we already have a good platform to build off of and could easily (coach) this team to 5 wins in his 1st season.

Of all the spot on comments said during this thread, this has to be the best summery.
