Hell, I would come up from Iowa City for a place to watch! It would be great to fill a place with Cyclone fans. Trust me - if we can fill a place with paying customers, there are plenty of establishments that would sign up to be the "Cyclone" place.

That is the problem...just nowhere to go in CR if you want to enjoy a game with Cyclone fans and not be constantly reminded that CR is a complete Hawkeye town! It isn't that there are no Cyclone fans...it is that businesses know who their customers are so they cater to Hawk fans.

Seems like just yesterday we were putting up billboards in Cedar Rapids claiming superiority in our state...now we can't even get all of our football games aired on the radio in CR!

A 6:00 start probably would conflict with the entertainment they bring in, so it wouldn't work this time, but everyone should know that the owners of Daniel Arthurs are huge Cyclone fans. Every month Cyclone alumni meet in the bar for an after work get together. Last time we watched the ISU-Iowa replay that was being re-broadcast at that time. Next time we will have Frank Nogel from the athletic department. There is also a special dinner planned if you are interested in eating, but advance notice is requested for anyone that plans to eat. Eating is not required, for socializing with Frank and other Cyclone fans.

I just wanted to let folks in CR know that I've gotten confirmation from ImOn cable that the ISU-Baylor game will be on the Comcast Plus channel. I think it might be only on the digital tier ... I have it on channel 147 and HD channel 847.

The main Comcast channel is carrying the Blackhawks game on Saturday night, but at least those knuckleheads in Chicago saw fit to put the Big XII game on the Plus channel.

I heard that Mediacom will have it on MC22 as well, but that won't be HD. I don't know if Mediacom has the Comcast Plus channel or not ... I've given Mediacom enough of my money over the years, but I switched to ImOn to get the NFL Network to see the Cyclones in the bowl game a couple of years ago and never looked back.

So what's the consensus on a bar? I've got 3+ looking for somewhere to call home.

Third Base--Back room (unless its reserved)--plenty of televisions

Tons of ISU fans there last time for UCONN and Hawks play at 230 so it shouldn't conflict

According to the Mediacom TV Guide the game will be on channel 127 and Mediacom Connections channel 22

Youre talking about the old Cedar Brewery right?

Correct, I don't believe the '3rd Base' guys own it anymore though. I may come with the wife, but since it probably won't even be shown in HD there I might rather watch it at home where I can drink away the blowout much more cheaply.

There will be people there for the Iowa game which will get over about 5:30-6ish but they should clear out and then the Clones will take over

With any luck we will be there by Tuesday.

Did we collectively decide on a place or what? I'm game if we are gonna have a bunch of Cyclone fans invade a place.

3rd base isn't taking any reservations for the back room tomorrow night because of the Iowa game (at 230) so it shouldn't be a problem to find a spot...I say we do it

Probably going to be there with my wife and some guys from work. Co-workers were tossing around some other ideas, so I'm only about 80% committed. Definitely leaning towards an unofficial CF gamewatch over what they were scheming up.

It would have to cater to all ISU grads, not just sports fans. Rockwell and Alliant are full of ISU grads (engineers). I'm thinking something small, clean, friendly and classy, not a tavern hok dive bar. One giant projection screen surround by a handful of smaller flat screens tuned to other conference games. Maybe even a small screen tuned to the Iowa game.

Don't forget ITC!

Then where should they go? I have watched a few games at 3rd base, it is not all that great, but I didn't get a lot of hate there either.
I see that you live in Robins, me too. I assume that you have Shellsburg Cable. Any idea if channel 21 will carry the Baylor game? The IA-ISU game was on 21. I checked the digital cable guide and it just said To be announced or something like that for 6PM on channel 21. The menu guide under football didn't show any other channels for the ISU-Baylor game.

I didn't see any conclussive place that Cy fans are going to view the Baylor game. Did you here anything?
