It's not open YET but it will be in a couple weeks. Just playing politics like any AD would do.

They are still paying Barnett this season, and word is they don't have the money for a Hawkins buyout. It would cost them several million dollars. I think he may last another season. That's good for Iowa State. His recruiting this year at CU is a shambles. Let him wallow there.

I don't mind at all: as long as we can beat him, CU better retain him. We should be glad that he's still coaching the Buffs.

They can't afford it. They will do something face saving like making him fire his assistants and start somewhere else.

Huh... that sounds familiar.

The thing is, with Hawk on the hot seat and rumors swirling, CU is already screwed. How do you recruit effectively with that cloud over your head? I see his comments as being a way to save face. The spin is to make the university look bad by firing a guy who did things the right way. If the AD and President were behind him, they would have immediately made a strong public statement backing him, which they didn't.

I'm sure Hawk isn't worried about it because he has a few million reasons not to be.

Hire prostitutes. Oh wait, they've already tried that.

I pull for anybody who's under that much pressure. Granted some of it is his own doing, but he does have a fairly young team.

What in the world is consistently happening at CU? 10-15 years ago or so they were competing for a National Championship and since Bill McCartney it's been crazy stuff.

It's really hard to wash off Rick Neuheisel stink once it gets on you.

Barrnett was pretty good, he won a bunch of North Titles and (1) Big 12 Championship. Granted, the North was down, but cudos to him for getting it done.
