Plans are to head down to Ames for the Thursday nighter then to chicago to catch a cubs game. Never been to a cubs game and planning to go to the Saturday Sept 4th game vs. The Mets. What is the ticket scalping like there this year? What should I be looking to spend for some good tickets? Any suggestions would be great.

GO STATE!!

If it weren't Labor Day weekend - I'd say you wouldn't have any trouble scalping... and cheap.

But it's probably still going to be a little pricey.

If you know you're going for certain, might want to check Ebay or StubHub. Probably alot of fans trying to give them away right now. Might score a deal.

I just moved back to Iowa from Chicagoland and I have ALWAYS had better luck scalping than getting tickets off StubHub. I recommend the guys that set up right outside of the El station. He sold me 4 bad tickets once, I went back to him and he not only remembered me but gave me better seats and apologized profusely.

I paid $55 for bleachers off stub hub for the Aug 20th game. Dont like to deal with scalping though. Regardless of how the Cubbies are doing, the ticket prices wont drop too much.

I StubHub'd some for next week, that way they're guaranteed to be valid and they were reasonably priced I thought. Bleachers for around $40 I think.

I figure if any problems come up I can have someone to yell at instead of trying to find the guy who sold them to me, who may have moved or run off by then.
