I wouldn't even call a Cubs fan a Hawkeye. I enjoy good natured ribbings at the Cubs, but I see Cubs more as a friendly rival more than anything.
Card fans are a ton like Hawk fans. I know most Card fans who are ISU fans don't see it, but it's true. Just ask any Cyclone fan is is unbiased.
It's hard to find another MLB fan base more obsessed with their rival's fans than the Cubs. I've gotten used to it by now; they are the deanvogs and Section110's of the baseball world who are constantly comparing their team to the other one.
Again, Hawk thing to say.
Look back at last year. Every Card-Cub thread was created by a Card fan.
Serious Clark? There are a ton of posts from Cubs fans about Cardinals fans. My replies come after.
Another Hawk thing to say though, sounds like deanvogs

I literally don't know a Cubs fan that brings up other teams or their fans first. We're pretty single-minded in our obsession.
Everyone else seems to be plenty obsessed with us, because apparently it's not cool to stay loyal to a team in good times and bad.
That has nothing to do with comparing the Cubs to the Cardinals. No one in the history of ever has compared the 2015 Cubs to the 2015 Cardinals.
Please find a post where I said people compare the Cubs to the Cardinals. Note that the word "fans" appears in my post(s)
I have been a cubs fan since I can remember being a fan of anything. How can you compare cubs fans to anything. I love Iowa State, the Cubs, and the Chiefs. I cannot be compared to a band wagoning fan of anything. My soul is so calloused I don't even feel wins, I just expect the next loss. #GoCubsGo
Comparing Cubs and Cards fan bases to college fan bases is downright silly because there are a lot of Cyclone fans that are fans of both teams and a lot of Hawkeye fans that are fans of both teams. Also every fan base has their idiots. But the idiots don't make the fan base. Both have some of the best fans in baseball. It's just the idiots that are usually vocal on the Internet and make the fan bases look bad. (This thread is no exception and includes both fan bases.)
I think we should all cool it with the Hawk fan comparisons... that may be a step too far.
