Currently have Mach E. Will likely be traded for electric SUV or Lightning down the road depending on what my wife wants.

Also have hybrid F-150. Will likely never go back to full ICE vehicle.

What are you getting for range on your Mach-e?

Not in the target group, but have an interesting anecdote.

We were shopping for 2 used cars recently. I asked the dealer about used electric or hybrid vehicles and he literally laughed at me. He said they barely make it on the lot before they are sold. I did find 2 used Teslas on another lot but they were a bit smaller vehicle than I was searching for.

Perhaps part of the slow adoption rate is because there are a lot of people who don't generally buy new but would buy a used electric of some sort but there is inadequate used EV inventory to realistically make the leap.

And it isn't like I am out there buying beaters - the two vehicles I bought were under 30k miles and the oldest was a 2021.

For those voting no, I'd love to hear what you currently drive and why you'll move to something else.

We have a Model Y and the only reason I wouldn't consider another BEV is if there wasn't a good option in the segment that I wanted. So for example, if I wanted a sports car, it's pretty slim pickings right now.

True story.

I traded my 20 Escape Hybrid in May and they had it detailed and somebody test driving it before I was finished signing the paperwork on the new one. I'm sure they sold it that day or very shortly after.

We have a 22 extended range.

In town speeds we could do 300+
77ish about 250
65ish about 280

Wind and temperature can DRASTICALLY change those numbers. I did Rochester to Ames a ton last summer and if I was driving into a stiff breeze I'd be getting to Ames under 10%. If I had a tail wind it could be 30%+. I would want nothing to do with road tripping in the winter. If it's 10 degrees outside AT BEST the range is going to be about 150 miles.

Nobody came straight out and said it but I got the impression that many don't even make it on the lot, their dealers are looking for them for their customers and let them know when one is on the way so it never hits the lot.

For cold winter trips you could take a page from Mark Watley's book and use a radioactive RTG to heat the cabin of your car and extend battery life.

Who really needs a sports car when the sedans already are bragging sub 10 second quarter-mile times?

True, I was just giving an example. My true sport car days are behind me, but I still can appreciate the acceleration.

Yeah, not discounting what you were saying. It is true that for a lot of sports car buyers it is as much about the look as the performance.

This sounds like a sales pitch to me. If they never make it to the lot they are selling them to cheap.

How is it a sales pitch if they don't have a single one on the lot to sell me? On top of that the old salesman who laughed and told me they didn't have any and can't keep them says he still doesn't trust EVs and won't get one himself.

Maybe because they don't want them? Maybe because they sell the ones they get in on trade at auction and don't buy any at the auctions? It's just weird to me, if they are that in demand they should raise prices so they have *inventory* to sell.
