I think you and some others are confusing the question. I think his jumpshot is fine by now after all this time in the D-league. He is basically one of the top players in the whole D-league every year, but I'm guessing age and size has prevented him from getting a callup, along with bad timing as said earlier.

No.....he shoots closer to 20% than 40% from three point range. The D-league has unfortunately not improved his shot.

When the Energy coach was on Murph and Andy Thursday I believe, they asked why he never got a shot. Coach said one thing was timing of events. When he did get a shot, he wasn't eligible for a few days because of FIBA/NBA rules. So the team passed and picked someone else up.

Probaly a few things like that kept him from playing. Now I'd wager he's too old for a team to call up. Might as well just sign or draft a younger guy and roll the dice, is how a lot of GMs feel/work.

The NBA is a tough business. I hate to hear how the system works against our guys. Glad to hear it may be working out better for Chris Babb.

Wants to be close to his child that lives in the Des Moines area.

That's my impression too. I had a real interesting conversation with Curtis about his time at ISU a couple of years ago while we were watching his son's game. I tried not to be too much of a pain in the ***** fan, and he didn't make me feel like one and couldn't have been nicer.

Well the Lakers looked like duck soup again today. They might want to jettison some of their players to the D League or further.

Not an elite athlete either... Look at his measurables from his day at the combine, worst out of any of the guards by a significant margin.

Love Stinson though, maybe my favorite player of all time.

I've been to a game this year and Mediacom broadcasts a lot of the Energy's home games so I catch bits and pieces of several games this year. . He is still a passing machine!

Not to go too far off topic, but what happend to Chris Allen? I was looking forward to watching him play when I went to a game last Sunday, but he seems to be no longer on the team.

I'm no NBA GM, but I would think drafting him in the first round would in fact be silly. 1st round is guaranteed money, so if you are going to take a flyer on someone, then do it without using guaranteed money. that points to 2nd round, or even bring him in as an undrafted free agent. I love his game and think it translates. Early in the year I thought maybe he wasn't a good enough shooter to make the NBA, but he really changed that impression during the Big 12 season as arguably our most consistent 3-pt shooter.

I'm no NBA GM, but I would rather give guaranteed money to someone who has proven what they can do rather than someone who has "potential' but may not ever realize that potential. I guess that is why I am a CPA and not a talent scout though.

Mar 11, 2014 - The Iowa Energy placed Chris Allen on waivers.

Mar 13, 2014 - The Sioux Falls Skyforce claimed Chris Allen from the player pool.

Thought for the day: Don't Google "Chris Allen". Google "Chris Allen basketball". I made the wrong choice...and the second image was apparently a porn star or something...definitely NSFW!!!

Those no-look passes between him & Will were a thing of beauty. I think they both kind of got lost in the drama surrounding Morgan's dismissal, and may have pulled the trigger too early in terms of declaring themselves for the draft.

Well, don't I feel stooooopid...I was curious as to who agreed with me on the Stinson/Blaylock passes, and somehow managed to "thumbs up" my own post. No, I'm really NOT that vain, and I can't figure out how to "un-thumb" it!

Re: Chris Allen. Heard from a guy who is a season ticket holder that Chris was running his mouth to the coaches. Not sure what exactly went down, but wouldn't be surprised if that's indeed why they let him go.

I have thumbed my own posts twice, both times on my mobile device while I was trying to see who thumbed my post. The second time I apparently unthumbed it by hitting the grey thumb. I didn't think you could do that.

Stinson was and still is a great player. I honestly don't know why either. I don't think it's size. The guy is 6'3" and 220 lbs and strong as ****. He doesn't have the greatest shot, but he knows how to score. Now he's like 31 years old, so his best bet is to get a lucky break or play overseas again.

Morgan was also very well liked by the players and they weren't happy with his firing and how it was handled, and that came from somebody who would know. But I also heard the players weren't crazy about GMac as he had got into it with Morgan at the Unidome, calling Homan a thug or something like that.
