Didn't get to see the game last night but noticed in the box score Clayton didn't see the floor much. Is he ok health wise?

I think he's back to 100% but probably catching up after missing some practice time because of mono. Overall I think he's played pretty well considering.

He didn't play much because our starters couldn't pull away until late, but there are plenty of cupcakes on the schedule for him to work in some games that are under control.

I thought on that foul he had it should have been an offensive foul on that short guy.

How crazy is our program that a consensus 4 star PG, lightening quick sharp shooter is looking down the barrel of very limited playing time as a freshman? Past teams he would have been our focal point and all future hopes would be pinned on him...

Custer will be ok, and unless he totally belly flops he'll be a contributor by the end of the season. He and Monte are the only true point guards on the roster, so once he gets up to speed he'll get some meaningful minutes out of necessity.

It will be interesting to see how many meaningful minutes Custer gets this year?

He's the only other true PG we have on the roster besides Monte. So it would be nice if he could come in and run the show when Monte needs a breather, or if Monte gets into foul trouble.

If he's not ready to do that this year, then it will be PG by committee if Monte has to sit, which isn't that big of a deal because I think Naz can bring it up, or BDJ, or even Niang at times. SDW is also capable possibly.

I don't think he'll see a ton of PT as a freshman, with all the depth we will have at guard once Thomas and Nader are back.

With how much Monte played last year, I don't see Custer getting a lot of time. Not a knock on him, as I think Custer is going to be a good one. We just have too many weapons.

Also, that was a pretty clear hand check on him. If he had kept his hands out then it would have been an offensive foul.

Oakland's PG was very quick, clearly the best creator on the team, and played all 40 min. I'm assuming Morris would have gotten some rest and Custer some more PT if that guy had sat at all.

Thought Georges was our point forward.

I was a little surprised Custer didn't play more last night, but I think CFH is all about matchups. CFH might not have thought Custer matched up well against a quick/physical player like Felder. I kind of recall CFH brought Morris along slowly last year.

Correct.... which is why he brings the ball up the court once in a while. That's why you can technically use him as your "PG" at times if needed. He can bring the ball up the court, and does for us at times.

Last year Morris didn't play as much early in the season. Seemed like Fred wanted to focus on Morris' role as the floor leader prior to playing him more as the season went on where he shared the role with Kane.

Naz will almost never bring it up imo. Georges, BDJ, and even Nader or SDW will get time as "pg" Custer is not ready to be even a 5-10 minute back-up.
