Cancel any time yes, I'll suffer through having a box for having about 100 more channels. We have the 50MBPS/350GB and have

I have U and News, I'm on the new customer 2 year, and with 3 TV's hardware I pay $48 after fees and taxes.

You must have gotten the deal of a lifetime, cause the lowest package on their website (which doesn't include any espn) is $50 + fees, which increases after 12 of your 24 months. I know there are sometimes promotions elsewhere, but I've NEVER seen directv prices that low.

I wouldn't mind seeing a screenshot of your next bill if you wouldn't mind, if for nothing else than to try to go to them & get the same deal.

At $45, I can get all those channels on DirecTV, and a lot more.

I have 3 TVs and the middle DTV package (no add ons) and I pay $125 per month. Outside of having their most basic package during the promo period, the number of people paying $45 only for DTV is near zero.

My wife and I cut the cord a few years ago and we haven't missed it. I have access to the ESPN app and have 3 Chromecasts. We do OTA and its got plenty of channels and in HD too. We also have Mediacom with 50 speed that I currently pay $25.99 but thats about to jump to $35 a month for the second year. We don't have a contract either because of the deal they were offering when we switched from CenturyLink. If I didn't have access to the ESPN app then I would really be considering Sling. With a Chomecast its easy to operate and using your smartphone or tablet with it. If the app works with Chomecast, the box shows up on your screen right away.

Or you are in the 12 month "introductory price" period with only 1 box and after 12 months they double your rate and you are on contract for that rate for another 12 months.
3 boxes, I mentioned this already, $7 a piece for that $21 on there.

That would mean your package (which includes ESPN and all of the expensive channels) is only $37 per month. No way in hell. DTV would be losing money.

I haven't a cable bill in 2 1/2 years and haven't missed anything I really want to watch which includes all my Iowa fball and bball games, NBA, MLB, anything really. I have a couple of firesticks and rokus on my tvs and have Netflix and Amazon Prime and a friends cable password. I take my friend out for lunch like once a month.

Like I said, wizard

Lol, look, I can do that too! DirecTV.jpg
Your 'bill' was recreated with excel in about 5 minutes. It doesn't show anything about what channels you get or any other info. No big deal, just a couple guys on the internet who don't believe you.

Yes, I'm the type to go make a fake bill in Excel, worth my time to prove a point to anonymous people.

I came to this thread to see what the latest was on streaming, saw that prices were the same as my DirecTV and I don't have to increase my Internet. Just trying to point others in the same direction, but it looks like I just managed to get a great deal without know until today how good it really was.

Here is a head-to-head sports comparison. I'm just listen channels that might have an ISU connection of some sort (i.e. not including the Golf Network even when it's in the package).

Sling TV
$20 (Sling Orange): ESPN, ESPN2
$25 (Sling Blue): FSN, FS1, FS2, NBCSN
$40 (Sling Orange & Blue): ESPN, ESPN2, FSN, FS1, FS2, NBCSN

Add $5 to the Orange or the Orange & Blue (not Blue alone) to add on ESPNU, ESPN News, and SEC Network.

Vue

$30 (Access): ESPN, ESPN2, FS1, FS2, NBCSN
$35 (Core): ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPN News, FS1, FS2, NBCSN, B1G Network, SEC Network
$45 (Elite): ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPN News, FSN, FS1, FS2, FCS, NBCSN, B1G Network, SEC Network

As far as I can tell, nearly every ISU football and basketball game that is covered by any of these six packages will be available on the Vue Core package for $35 a month. I think the San Jose State game is scheduled for FSN and it doesn't appear that FSN is on the Core package though. A comparable package of sports channels on Sling would cost $45 and you would still not get the Cy-Hawk game this fall on BTN.
This is really why I want to switch from Sling to Vue, but the Vue UI on Roku is atrocious right now - enough to keep paying $10 more a month. Hopefully they fix it soon.
