Games like this are possible and do happen. To think otherwise, is unrealistic. Yes, I realize most of this thread is the humor/sarcasm frenzy , but also there is some hidden points worth noting as well. Why must high expectations be accompanied with arrogance? Those boasting our players as better than other teams, saying we should have beat Maryland by twenty, calling our own fans out for not predicting certain dominating wins, claiming an easy victory at Carver, saying other coaches can't recruit like Fred, etc., etc., etc. just doesn't seem fair to our team, coaches, and our very own fan base. Nothing is ever as bad as it seems (last night's game) and nothing is ever as good as it seems(those claiming after Viterbo that we had a second 5 that could qualify for the NCAA...oh my). We could finish 5th in the Big12 afterall, but, hey, we could finish first, too!! Face it, there is a ton of good players and coaches out there. Thats why they play the games. Butler just proved that vs. NCar. KState held their own with Arizona. Creighton knocks off OU. Maybe its time for just supporting/cheering/optimism towards our team and not putting the cart ahead of the horse. Oh, and of course, friendly message board chatter, too. : )

We believe in accountability, so we're creating a culture of accountability.

You can't hold all of Cyclone nation responsible for the sick, perverted writings of CW. For if you do shouldn't we blame all of college athletics? And if all of college athletics is guilty isn't this an indictment of our educational institutions in general?

I put it to you, Erik. Isn't this an indictment of our entire American society?

Well you can do what you want with us, but we're not going to sit here while you bad mouth the United States of America! Gentleman!

It's actually my fault. My dad came and watched the game with me. Last time he did that was @ West Virginia. It is unfortunate that I can never watch a game with him ever again.

so this is why it didn't work when I sat in the bathroom. Guys, not my fault!

As of right now, I'm only bashing CW, the unabashed ringleader of homerism run rampant.
I'm willing to expand the critique, but there's so much to criticize about CW that there's just no time left over.

So what time is convenient for you and CPR to meet up and get on the stake...er... platform we've built to heat you up in this cold weather? We're just looking out for you.

Way up there
Hmmmm when you think about it, its a much busier place around here when ISU loses....busier site = good business for CF. Meltdowns as a result of an overconsumption of kool aid means even more traffic. We may just have to reconsider exactly who's side CW is on....

'Twas my fault everyone. I was not able to watch any of the game due to a stupid family thing I had to do. I will now sit back and let the jury decide my fate.

Update: According to one of my sources, word on the street is the team hasn't even actually practiced for the last 10 days. Fred just has them sitting around reading CF for 2 hours instead. Now my first thought would be "Not even any conditioning?!" It's ridiculous. And crazy.

Of COURSE they're getting conditioning. Prior to reading CF for two hours, they read HawkeyeNation for ten minutes.

I think of the Minnesota Gophers and I feel completely better. Maryland should beat Minny by about 33-34 pts...right?

Stupidest post ever OP. If you can't form your own opinions on the team and expectations how can you form opinions on CW? If CW is that bad but yet you were dumb enough to follow his guidance your are an idiot.

This team had an off shooting night and some very sloppy play by a senior transfer. They got mentally shook and didn't respond well. That said Fred is the best coach and the team will come back stronger from this. It is not like Maryland is a bad team, those freshman were part of a top 10 class and nobody knew if they would play well out of the gate. Well, they are 5-0. I would say that is pretty well.

LOL
