My sister and I will be in Chicago for the Cubs game on Saturday. Now that the game has moved to 3pm we'll be able to watch the Cyclones game (or most of it). I'm assuming Murphy's is still the place to be. Will we have any problem getting in to watch the football game or what time should we plan to get there?

I had no idea Murphy's was an ISU bar, but it's a great place to hang prior to a Cub game. Obviously get there early and drink a ton of Old Style.

Does Murphy's open at 11?

Perfect timing. Murphy's opens at 10am for Cyclone fans, usually opens at 11am when there isn't an 11am ISU game.
It won't be packed like last week, you could show up to Murphy's this Sat right at 11 and get a table. It will start to get crowded around noon or so with Cubs fans pregaming.
Show up at 10:30-45ish for the ISU game. Drink and eat. Game gets over around 2pm. Head into Wrigley afterwards and take in pregame festivities.

Murphy's is the only actual ISU bar but it is not the greatest game watch situation nor is it really an actual ISU bar. Essentially, the upstairs area is blocked off for ISU fans but not a ton of space. Granted the two times I have been there were for uni games on cyclones.tv but it was crowded and cramped and only on one tv. The servers/ bartenders generally just seemed pissed to have to be dealing with a bunch of fans they had no affiliation to. It may be different for a game on a real network and that is just my experience but personally I think the situation could be better.

I was actually at Murphy's this past Saturday to watch the game before going into Wrigley. The upstairs area was the official alumni gamewatch area but I think every tv in the building was turned to the Iowa State game and probably 90% of people downstairs were Iowa State fans. The only bartender I dealt with seemed to be having a good time.
