Should be interesting. I wonder if Shapiro has opened up to be pretty much the best Iowa HS wrestler, period, as I believe you previously suggested.

I see that he beat Lewis Central’s Mac Southard in the finals last year at 160, 5-3. This year Shapiro is up two weight classes, at 182. Southard was maybe Dresser’s first ISU commit, calling up and visiting campus and meeting with Dresser, per a news article I posted on this board. Though they were from different high schools, Southard used to train with Sherry.

You are right....Stotts' only loss was to Steffensmeier.
Steffensmeier has beaten Isaac Judge and Stotts this year. (He split with Noah Fye of NH and lost to Lara.)
Judge's only losses were to Steffensmeier and Lara.

Yeah, I still think Shapiro is the best wrestler in the state. Kid has improved so much from last year. He will be a stud in college. Book it!

Other side of bracket has Trenary of Clarion & Linderbaum of Solon, but they don't meet until Semis
