You spoiled piece of crap. Get a new team if you don't think this team is busting its butt.

You suck as a fan for saying that about this group of guys.

GO AWAY!

Agreed - CF this is another example of why negative rep needs to be brought back to the forums. This guy should have all red squares within the next 20 mins.

This team bust their *** and continue doing so knowing that there is no postseason for them. No NCAA, No NIT, No CBI and let's be realistic a slim chance at even advancing past the first round of the B12 tourny. After all of that most people wouldn't even show up to practice but these kids are still doing what they can.

So the team was 1-10 in big 12 play and down 12 points early in the game. What exactly should the crowd look like?

If any other team in the big 12 had a 1-10 record, they wouldn't bring as many fans as we did today.

1-11 Im sorry i cant get exCYded For that. this year is over wrap it up. if the team on the floor does not give the effort how am I supposed to give effort. I am Done going to games for the rest of the year I cant stand to watch them lose.

It's quite obvious you don't even watch the games if you think they have stopped giving effort.

I think they should get rid of CA. Our student section is too uniformed compared to other schools. I think that having to pay for CA turns a lot of people away because the best seat they can get is above the folding chairs.

The overall attendance today was pretty good, the student section attendance flat out sucked. They barely filled their bleacher sections up and it was painfully noticeably of all the empty red seats in the upper half of their sections. This team hasn't quit all season, its a shame a lot of students have already quit on this team though. These players deserve better, they are playing their hearts out with a short bench and their fellow peers can't even show up on a Saturday afternoon to support them.

Do you want to give out participation medals too?

The players play hard for sure, but that only goes so far with casual fans. It is appreciated by the diehard fans, but it isn't enough and I think the players would tell you the same thing. Nobody wants a participation medal.

Everyone appreciates hard play. What you said makes no sense.

(I know, another thread about it, right)

Throughout the Cyclone Alley threads I have usually laid low and not said much because I don't get to attend many games. While I don't hate the idea of an organized student section, today I witnessed something. During a timeout in the second half ISU was down 2 to Mizzou and during the timeout the student section sat down as usual.

That part doesn't bother me, because during normal timeouts that is expected. But ISU had just pulled within 2 and they played the song Jump Around. The camera man was panning the student section and there was literally 10-12 people that were up and dancing.

That, and where are the funny costumes and giant blow up heads that EVERY university has.

I went to the UNI v Drake game and even the tiny butt Drake student section had blow up heads.

I am not hating on Cyclone Alley, I just think they need to get a little crazy from time to time. You know, push the limits a little but.
Aren't these opposing ideas? If every other university has giant blow up heads, aren't we different for not conforming and getting them too?

hell i'm a senior in high school and i know what it was like just by my parents telling me... that place was a hostile environment. Coaches used to hate coming to Hilton. Now it seems like it's just another place to play a game.

So you weren't actually there when it was "loud". You're going with your parents I-used-to-walk-to-school-in-6-feet-of-snow-uphill version of Hilton. K.

The crowd was at its loudest when Ejim had the tip Off. rebound, save to Anderson, save to DG, Alley-oop to Ejim foul play.

That is completely and totally irrelevant to the point I was making. Of course fans show appreciation for hustle in individual sequences, but going 1-11 and hustling doesn't put butts in the seats and doesn't make for a good atmosphere. If you are ok with that, then awesome. And I'm happy they hustle, but I'm not into moral victories, especially ones that include being happy just for trying hard.

And I will absolutely guarantee the players aren't happy with losing just because they played hard.

I was just stating that the fans appreciate hustle. Your post made it sound like you were complaining fans didn't care about hustle. I didn't read your other post so I'm just gonna shut up now.

For the very last time: W's = Crowd energy/involvement.

I can't disagree with this statement any more than I do. Each individual game dictates how the crowd should be. Iowa State has been involved in some heart-stopping, pulse-pumping games this season...with ranked teams no less. They players and coaches have been busting their ***** and playing with pride and passion. Yes, it is the job of the student section to stay standing...cheer like a teenage girl at a Justin Bieber concert...taunt the opposing players and coaches...etc.

I honestly believe it takes just one leader (maybe a group of leaders) to make sure this gets done. A person who doesn't feel embarrassed to make an *** of himself/herself. Cyclone Alley looks bad, sounds bad, and is a fragment of what it was.

I'm sorry if this hurts some feelings but many opinions like those expressed by most Cyclone fans can't be too far from the truth.

What people are saying is that the crowd wont be as good if there aren't many people there. Attendance is directly correlated to winning games.
