Excited to watch Haliburton and Morris square off tonight at 8 p.m. CT in Denver! The game is not going to be televised on national TV, but will find a way to stream it. Glad to have the NBA back!

There are several talking heads discussing THT since his big pre-season. Kevin O'Connor of The Ringer has a pretty big audience, I would think (they discuss his lackadaisical defense and bad shot selection at ISU as reasons why he fell to Rd. 2).

Just wanted to add that Niang defended several shots by Melo that were missed. Won't show up in the stat sheet but at a time they were building a lead.

Kings fans are loving him right now.

I won't be able to stop myself from doing this. After one game:

Tyrese:

3-7fg
2-5 3pt
4-4 ft
2 rebounds
4 assists
1 block
0 TOs

LaMelo "Mr ESPN" Ball:
16 min
0 points
0-5fg
0-3 3pt
0-0 ft
1 rebound
3 assists
2 steals (these came mixed in with his own turnovers on the same plays)
3 TOs

I see that was an OT win for Sacramento so those were important plays. I wouldn't have bet that Hali would have 6x the points of Monte in his first game. Great start for him.

Monte-like 4-to-0 assist-to-turnover there for Tyrese. I didn't think he'd be getting 30 minutes yet. What a start!

I couldn't see any of the openers but followed Matt Thomas' Tampa Raptors game. Matt was effectively the 7th man - at one point in the 4th, he had the 6th-most minutes played - and I suspect he'll settle in as the 8th man. But he played in at least the 1st, 2nd and 4th quarters.

He started out 0-3 in the first half but was finding other ways to contribute:

The Raptors were kind of lifeless, it seems, in the 2nd half but Matt heated up to go 3-for-3 from 3pt for his 9 points. He added 4 assists and two steals in his line -- he didn't hurt himself in Game 1.

When he signed with the Raptors, Nick Nurse told Matty Ice to watch video of JJ Redick. JJ went off for 23 off the bench in this game.

This could be good news for Naz, Deonte and Marial. It seems like there will be a shortened G League season - with a bubble - and older, experienced players will be allowed. At least this is a chance to stay sharp and show what they can do (to overseas teams?).
