I couldn't help notice he was in on a play by the goal line. Had a pancake that looked like a bear mauling someone with a picnic basket. Looks like a keeper.
A redshirt freshman to come on the field and play like that....And to only get better as time goes on.....Definately a KEEPER !!!!

I thought Simmons was recruited as a tackle? I thought he played well for his first start.

I am interested to see what they do when Downing comes back.

He was a beast on the 75yd TD.

And a fist pump into the air after Hall had broke into daylight. Love guys the play with emotion.

Not ready to give up on him yet. I know he has been hurt, so maybe they dressed him just in case someone else got hurt. (Please, don't let that happen now....)

Just finished the first half. Even the man down field penalty looked looked badass. TD he rag dolled his man. Not sure how they ever get him off the field moving forward.

PS kid was a low 3*, that's why I don't get worked up about recruiting rankings.

Honestly OL is one of the groups I have never questioned this staff for kids they recruit.

I know he’s been listed as the back up C but never heard much about him. He was very impressive and can’t wait to see more of him.

I rewatched the game today focusing on the OL. They were very good. More physical than the TCU DL. Simmons played really good for a RS FR. He looked strong and very athletic. All the guys played well. We still have some things to clean up, but it is a good start.

I saw Simmons get beat once on a run play. Other than that he was aggressive and dominant.

At 6’3”? Not so much.

I suspect that true freshman Anthony Smith will be in the same mold. Played left tackle for their large class school in high school, both 6’3”, athletic and tenacious, neither one highly recruited.

Strange. It’s almost like CMC, Tom
Manning and Jeff Myers know what they’re doing.

Injured. At least he made the trip this time, that’s better than Downing did. Hopefully one or both of them are back for OU.

Simmons’ play shows us the OL is finally starting to develop some quality depth.
I thought I heard Hudson started?
