Deadpool, by the company that has given us X3, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, and The Wolverine, that's PG-13? I'm most definitely out. There hasn't been a good X-Men movie that hasn't featured Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, and James McAvoy since Alan Cumming was Nightcrawler. I have zero faith that this will break the streak.

This just goes to show you how ridiculously over saturated the X-Men movie franchise has become. I remember the first couple and then it seemed like it exploded where there were two coming out a year.

Well keep in mind that the franchise has also been running for over a decade. I think X-Men was released in 2000. It's really only been one every 2 years on average, but I think the age of the franchise and general superhero saturation is starting to show.

Only Deadpool would put out a trailer for the trailer. (NSFW language)

Ryan Reynolds is actually going to star in a movie that won't flop. Has somebody checked the temperature in hell?

I think it looks pretty awful. Wish I thought it looked good. The red band trailer on Conan was so slapsticky it was eyeroll worthy. This won't be a massive hit you think. Mark my words.

I cant wait to see it, although I probably wont watch any more of the trailers because I feel like a lot of one liners will be ruined. I dont think it will be a massive hit either, but more so because people dont really know enough about Deadpool and will come out offended (or outraged that they took there kids to an R rated movie that turned out to be an R rated movie).

You obviously don't know anything about this character if that is your complaint.

That might be why it won't be a massive hit. I'm not sure that the character is going to have much crossover appeal to the non comic book fan movie audience. This one might be for the diehards only. But then again, I thought the same thing about Guardians of the Galaxy before it was released.

I think it will be on par with Kick-*** for box office. Probably a bit higher gross because of the X-Men tie-in.

I suppose it's how you define a hit. I don't believe it will be a massive hit, the R rating will limit the movie from that status. I do believe it will generate more money than it costs to make, which in today's movie landscape is generally how you define a hit.

Maybe but it's going to be compared to all other Marvel movies so if it doesn't reach any of those type numbers off the bat, despite it being rated R, it won't be considered a huge success.

Depending of course on what your definition of success is.

So your issue is not slapstick at all. It is Ryan Reynolds, which is fine, to each their own. But slapstick is the crux of a true Deadpool movie.

No it depends on how the slapstick is delivered. He's horrible. if it were the right actor it could be great.
