ARE YOU BLINDLY FORGETTING THE FACT THAT HE AVERAGES 15 PPG AND 7 APG? I bet he scores all of those 15 points just with dunks. And I bet he dunks to get his assist totals to 7 a night. HERP DERP. Burbur Palorrr equals John Stockternnnn.

I was responding to your post that said Deandre Kane was a stud because of the tomahawk dunk he did. That's all you said. Kane=good basketball player because of one dunk you saw on a highlight. I said, that doesn't mean jack squat. I didn't say Kane wasn't a good basketball player, I was just responding you what you posted.

Where have I said that? Show me.

Bringing in Kane is good no matter what the situation is. If we aren't losing anyone else, it's awesome. And if we are losing someone else, it's still a good thing, because it helps to fill that void.

I just can't tell you if it's an upgrade or not over what we had before he came if I don't know if we're losing someone else? It could be a wash. Heck, it could be a downgrade if we're trading out an Ejim or Niang for a Kane. Nobody knows. That is ALL I'm saying.

Whether or not we are losing someone else is HUGE in this equation. So that question needs to be asked. I don't care if you work for the Des Moines Register, the CR Gazette, or Cyclone Fanatic. It is a HUGE question.

See, you're capable of making your point, and doing so without coming across as unreasonable. Now you can do the same in the last paragraph, and people will not attack you.

Huh, did you watch the video of the one handed tomahawk ally oop dunk? I don't think Bubu would do that in the MAC, no disrespect to him.

I agree losing one of the top 100 freshman would be big deal, nothing in the Hoiberg years points to that unless there were some kind of personal tragedy.

Um no, that wasn't me. But go ahead and keep trying.

I have a wedding today but I am missing the reception - stuck in the hotel room with a sick kid. Thanks for the entertainment.

That's what I'm here for. Without me, these threads would go nowhere. Don't you get it? I love getting this stuff going. It's great.

Some have to get hateful about it, but I enjoy it. Sounds like you do too.

Clonedude, only losing Ejim or Georges for Kane would be a loss, and the chance of that happening is very low. Bubu and Long for Kane being a wash is nonsense. I am high on a lot of our young guys, but the reason getting Kane is such a good thing is because he fills a big void...which does not leave a lot of room for there to be "trades" that equate to a wash.

I'm not convinced, until I see Kane play against the Big 12, that he's an upgrade over Bubu or Naz Long. He very well could be. I hope he is.

But I'd MUCH rather have Matt Thomas, Monte Morris, or SDW for 4 more years versus Kane for one. Unless Kane is Royce White or Lebron James. If he is, I apologize and I will admit I was wrong.

Do you honestly think Fred would have brought him in if he didn't think he was an upgrade over Naz and Bubu? What good does that do?

There could be a lot of reasons to bring him in. First of all, someone might be gone.

If nobody is gone, then what does it hurt to bring in a guy for one year if you have an open scholly available? I don't think Naz Long is really a PG for one thing. So at PG we have Bubu and Monte Morris. As Matt said in CW's interview, you never know what a true freshman will be able to give you in year one either, so possibly Bubu is really the only PG we have with any experience whatsoever. That's not an ideal situation.

In reality clonedude, there are more players than Lebron that would be a step up from SDW, Thomas, long, and Bubu. Yes, even a experienced, athletic, player from Marshall that put up good numbers against Big 12 level opponents and had offers from Big 12 level programs. I like Bubu and long as much as anyone, but there is far more suggesting Kane will help us more next year than bubu/long than vice versa. As for SDW and Thomas, worrying about 14-15 and beyond is putting the cart before the horse.

It is humorous that in regards to Kane, he must prove himself in the Big 12, but you do not hold that standard of skepticism for high school recruits or players we saw just a year ago struggle in the Big 12 (long).

In his career he averages 15.1 points a game, 4.4 rebounds and 7 assists.
In 7 career games against Memphis (not your typical conference usa team) he averages 17.2 pts, 5.3 rebounds and 3 assists.

But you don't know... Maybe Bubu Palo would average 20 pts, 10 rebounds, and 8 assists.

Cripes, clonedude, first you rag on CW for "not asking tough enough questions" of Abdelmassih, and now you're poo-pooing CFH's decision to sign Kane? Give it a rest, buddy.

CFH could hand a scholarship to some chimp he saw at the zoo and I'd be confident in his choice; he's proven to have an eye for talent and the ability to develop and improve players. I'm certainly not going to gripe about him bringing in a guy who averages 15pts and 7 assists a game.
