But in our likely last ever meeting with Texas - looking at their DL and looking at our OL all week in preparation and thinking the majority of our runs needed to be inside of the C gap - why?
You want a green team to implement a whole new style of play in a week? Just checking. Without looking, You refer to Leipold, but without looking, I’m pretty sure that KU has a whole bunch more seniors—and sixth year seniors—on offense than we do.

It wasn’t hard to recognize what they were doing. Those rush attempts were solely pro forma, to keep the safeties close. Keep everything looking the same.

That 66 yard pass to Brahmer is what happens when you look like the same ol’ same ol’—and then aren’t.

And apparently the safeties stayed in enough for Rocco to have a productive passing day the rest of the game, too.

Nope. We've done outside zone and pin and pull to the outside. Matter of fact, when we've utilized it, we've run the ball more effectively. Rather than trying to essentially go straight ahead. Okie State, etc, Cincy a little, etc, we tried mixing it up. So its not a new play at all

Their safeties were not that close, IMO. THey didn't have to be. You don't bring your safeties screaming up field with that defensive line when facing the worst rushing team in the Big 12
