Our Sports Info department should pull a few media credentials for the next couple home games.
Sounds like this guy has done about all he could to try handle the situation nicely. This one is on BDJ, NOT the guy who called the cops.
Outside the fact that Marty Tirell is somehow, inexplicably part of the Iowa "media" - no.
This why I was pretty cool with Torii Hunter calling the Pioneer Press reporter a ***** at his recent press conference. I don't like some things Torii has said in the past but this was about resigning with the Twin and this guy only wanted to dredge up some old comments Torii made in an attempt to stir something up at the presser. And neither the signing or the past comments were really all that big a news, just lazy journalism when the reporter could have been chasing a real story. I like real reporting, not cheap sound bites from baiting people.
Was anything I said wrong? Did Fred have to go out and sign Bryce? Were there any other options for Bryce that gave him as good or even better chance than ISU to get to the NBA? All of that coupled with just not being a **** to your neighbors. I said he was lucky, and he is.
I figured this would happen. I have not doubt in my mind other programs would have suspended him after the game(Florida State). At least a loss would be less shocking now, and could get Jones more focused than before. Oh, and a win would be fun too.
The problem is, he really didn't do anything wrong. Otherwise, he'd be looking at more jail time and probably be suspended for the season. Fred only suspended him to put the situation to rest. And before you rehash whats been reported, remember, it is one side of the story, from the cops and the guy who called them. You can take them at their word, but that is rarely the full truth. That is why I never make final judgements in situations like this.
The 2 of you are going to set records for the quickest bans in site history if you keep this up.
Funny thing is, I finally ignored him. Not sure why I didn't do it sooner. He really seems like an angry, miserable a-hole.
Just a question...not a flame. Do you really believe that? Or just the typical message board talk with a rival? When it comes to this game any year, to me all bets are off, regardless of matchups, strengths, or who does or doesn't play. The outcome of this one game usually means very little when considering the season's success come March. Guess I look at it, if Fran and co. "don't" win this game with us not having McKay and BDJ and they're at full strength at a hostile Carver, then...... well, ...lets just say I wouldn't want to be them. Pressure is all on them.
The best part in all of this is that the hok fans went from thinking they had no chance to now believing that victory is a virtual guarantee for Iowa tomorrow night. I can't wait to see the meltdown when ISU wins despite BDJ being out of the lineup. #getmadagaingoesnuclear
This is hilarious coming from the great ribsnwhiskey. I guess he can't personally attack me and others if he ignores everyone.
I don't know. If it was that bad, I think the cops would have put a stop to it before. I think that it is quite possible that the cops knew that the guy was an ******* trying to cause trouble and they made a special attempt to not let it escalate.
BDJ obviously didn't comply, but last night's incident sounds about as stupid as they come.
