Did they find drugs? Sorry, I didn't see that part. I guess I'd have assumed a posession charge along with a "Drug House" charge if drugs were actually found. I guess I mis-read there. Most of my info is coming from this thread and all I saw was suspicion based on a smell.
I hope this is a wakeup call that he isn't untouchable here. On the other hand, non-prosecution of the case may only lead him to feel more untouchable...
He won't be suspended for the noise complaint. He could be suspended for violating team rules in some capacity.
I'm guessing that there will be plenty of prosecution inside Sukup. Perhaps even that hole in the ground to the east and even Hilton.
This. And he's obviously had some past issues before he got to campus. I wouldn't hesitate to sit him a game and tell him the leash is shorter if I was Fred.
Found what I think amounts to residue and ash. Just a guess - but I think some of the not moving forward on charges probably likely stems from not enough substance to make it worthwhile or a likely conviction.

Ames police officials and the Story County attorney's office are still discussing whether to charge Iowa State basketball player Bryce Dejean-Jones with a drug-related offense after a judge tossed out an initial charge.
Police broke up at a party at Dejean-Jones' apartment Thursday morning and arrested him. He was charged with keeping a drug house because marijuana was found on a dresser in the apartment, Ames police Cmdr. Geoff Huff said Thursday afternoon. But a Story County judge said the criminal complaint presented in court lacked enough probable cause to support the charge.
Dejean-Jones remains accused of hosting a loud gathering and breaking Ames' noise ordinance. Those are less-serious offenses.
However, Huff said, police could still seek to re-file the original charge or another drug-related charge if authorities think that an amended criminal complaint would provide more justification for the accusation.
Huff said he expected a resolution Thursday.
"I think we need to figure it out and get it done," he said. "Either we have it or we don't."

I honestly think the thing that makes me mad is that he's like, what, 23? I get it, not everyone is settled down and boring at 23, but this isn't a freshman or sophomore making these mistakes. At 23 he should know it's probably time to take it easy and focus on his future.
I'm 30 and I would say I still party pretty hard and don't always make the best decisions. It comes as no surprise that a 23 year old does the same thing.
If you're gonna punish the players, it much better to punish them now and hopefully they learn their lesson to try and avoid a incident later in the season during conference play where the games are more important.
FWIW - i'm hearing third hand from a player, they're vibe is the BJD will not be suspended for the Iowa game.
Players have not met with Fred yet in any capacity to know exactly, just the vibe they're discussing. That said, i believe both him and Nader should be suspended for the first half. They both put themselves in a bad spot and their lucky that a technicality got BJD off.
If i were Fred - i would go to my veteran captains and ask them how they feel it should be handled. A half game suspension could go a long way in setting the example that if they stray from the rules, it will not simply be overlooked. Thats what happens when the coach loses his team….look no further then Iowa City for that example.

A legal definition of "keeping a drug house" in one of these reports would be beneficial.
I don't get what people want BDJ suspended for? Because the police trumped up a charge? That is ******* ridiculous.
BDJ is probably going to be defended by White and Uthoff being right in his face. Why are we discussing additional punishments?
I'm not sure anyone actually WANTS him suspended. Just trying to prepare ourselves for it by not getting our hopes up that he won't be.
