Everything was going to **** at the Delta terminal in Detroit last week when that tropical storm hit Atlanta. I thought they did a great job with the people who were delayed. They kept bringing around the food and drink cart through the gates that were delayed offering them free food and drinks. Glad I wasn't affected, but it's nice to see an airline do more than just offer hollow apologies.

Not to put a damper on things, but Delta was legally required to provide food for the passengers that were stuck in this case. But great on their PR department for pretending they did it out of the goodness of their heart, I guess.

They were required to provide a bottle of water and a snack, they were not required to order hot pizzas for all of the passengers.

Not true. The airlines are not responsible for Acts of God, such as weather. The Passenger Bill of Rights only provides that if the airline is delayed due to something in their control (late pilots, mechanical issues, etc) that they must feed passengers after 1.5 hour delay and they must provide hotel if overnight delay. But they don't bear the expense if weather delayed. So props to Delta!

I flew Delta one time. Never again. They decided that to save time they would put us onto a tram to transport us to our plane so it could be in line to take off. The tram was essentially a metal box that they parked on the tarmac in the August sun for over an hour with no air conditioning or windows that could open.
