Dendy "suspended"

Still could have a solid core return next season if dendy is not one of them.

Colvin
Diante
Buckley
Big ham
Scotty
Demarcus Phillips
Melvin Ejim
A couple more possible Juco's
Clyburn and Wilkins.
Possibly gilstrap.

I know I am trying to look at the glass half full.

That roster makes me want to vurp

“He didn’t take the steps that I felt were necessary to get back as quickly as he possibly could,â€￾ McDermott said. “Because of that I don’t trust him. Until I trust him again he is not going to play.â€￾

I love this quote, makes me like mr greg mcdermott... seriously agree totally... said all along was a weak weak move by dendy... pathetic.

4 unknowns
1 guard gaining more experience who was recruited to start.
and Ham who is the only positive sign from this year.

Angie, you rock! Wait, was that personal? Sorry. To get this back on topic, when I say this thread I was not surprised in the least. Just another instance of McD bringing in a player that he can't coach.

Or bringing in a player that can't be coached.

Worst part.... Black and Gold Unis.... Lucca you suck.

LOL did you look at his stats? He hasnt played a game. Good thing he had to leave right away to be able to join the team. They must really need someone to hold the towels and gatorade.

(yes mods I know its off topic, sorry)

Question - why is this situation different than the Colvin situation? It wasn't fair to the team with so few bodies to reinstate Colvin early. Why is it now fair to the team to suspend Dendy with so few bodies available?

This is a really really easy answer.

Colvin did everything right during his suspension. He had, from my point of view, met everything asked of him, so it was logical and reasonable to cut it short.

Dendy hasn't met any conditions of his suspension, since he was just suspended.

And I kinda like the passion/emotion Colvin showed. Now it's just a matter of helping him learn to channel that energy.

when we put colvin back in we still thought we had an outside chance to salvage the season. now we know it is in the toilet so why leave it to stink up the room? just flush it and put it out of its misery.

I want him to turn out like Chris Wright. That would be awesome. I think has has the skillset for it if he can improve his jumper.

Mark it down for 15 wins unless something changes.

Or maybe Dendy will leard the concept of "TEAM" be a better person and player and work hard for GMAC. Maybe Gillstrap will be back. Colvin says he will be back. Why is your glass always half empty no one knows the plans of these kids after the season. Mac did the right thing getting Dendy's attetnion we need him hang i there clones gotta get better.

Time to have new tryouts for walkons. We do not want to run SC into the ground.

No, probably only if you also disappeared without telling anyone earlier in the season, causing you to also miss a game. Taylor stayed on the team through three arrests; I don't think one offense would lose McDermott's trust and get someone suspended. I agree that family is incredibly important (should be most important to these kids), but I don't think this is a one-strike offense. The straw that broke the camel's back here was that he wasn't honest with Coach about when he'd return.
This is from left field, its people like this on here who give it a bad rap. take 3-4 days paid by university, no contact with who is paying bill for 7 - I'm sorry last time I saw him; he did have a "blackberry" - or maybe he forgot his charger!! This school is not responsible for babysitting!! A little responsibility does go along way!! Grow up - everything is paid for; your under scholorship - dang ; forgot about that. Do I need to go to school now?

This is clearly the problem. Parse "fun" as you will but in this context it means that it is unrewarding and/or even unpleasant to play for Coach. Who cares if he is the nicest guy in the world according to CW, et al? Have any players said that? To me, lately, gmac seems like a giant, sad, downer dude who feels sorry for himself and is taking it out on the team. Is that a formula for success? Is it even rational? Heck no! He needs to fix himself and then maybe he can fix the team.

I agree wtih Marty Terrell on one thing, players beleive playing for Mac is not fun, I think he has taken the fun out of playing basketball for these guys.

losing shouldn't be fun.

this, like almost every other complaint about McDermott, is a symptom of losing, not the cause. If we win, this isn't an issue.

I think he is totally frustrated that his team cannot follow his 150 play system. Someone cuts off the dribbler. Someone stops the back runner. Someone intercepts the lob to the bucket. Someone steals a pass. The someone is the Big 12 opponents.

I am glad McD took the technical to fight for his players. That did not lose the game. The guy missed both free throws. If you go through the whole season without one technical, you coach too meekly. This team is just too laid back on the floor.

That is why Dendy was a breath of fresh air as a sub. He did not go to the correct spot in the playbook but he found a way to get to the ball. Now, he may be done for the season.
