Maybe Dendy has already told McD that he will not be back and will take care of hids family.

Possibly, I don't know. If he has I would certainly have gone farther than a suspension.

I definitely understand your point and I am on a different side than I was with the Colvin deal. It seems hypocritical I know. What I would say is there is more going on here. There is no question fo that in my mind. Do you remember when Dendy left for family reasons earlier in the year? Isn't that a little suspicious now. I don't know what happened at that time at all, however it seems odd to me. Also, his attitude when he was being coached has been bad from what I have seen. Mac said numerous times about Colvin that his behavior far exceeded what he expected and even exceeded what was needed before he even reinstated him. If Dendy does that he will be reinstated. Who knows, maybe he won't even miss a game? The fact is this is hard to compare as we do not know how long he will be suspended.

The point is, no matter what the different circumstances of the 2 cases might be, the original reason for bringing Colvin back (that the team was short and GMac felt the obligation, blah, blah, blah) was pure bs. If it was not, then Dendy should be playing now. GMac would have been better off in the long run, IMO, to have left Colvin suspended. Who knows......if Colvin had been left suspended, the situation with Dendy may not have played out as it did. I doubt that would have been the effect, but you never know.

See Im not hung up on the deal. Colvin has apparently learned a lesson even though the suspension was short. Maybe Dendy doesnt learn lessons. Im pretty sure if Colvin pulls crap again, hes done, but I dont think he will.

Where the hell did I say that? I'm just calling bs on GMac's reason for bringing Colvin back early. At the time, some on here questioned what he would do if someone else got into trouble.....if he needed Colvin so bad that he had to bring him back early, what was going to happen the next time? Now we know.......so the stated reason for bringing Colvin back was bs. He should have just stuck with the suspension on Colvin, which even he said was within his principles. Now, having to suspend Dendy just brings into question what he did with Colvin.

Many are still missing the point on this. Colvin was brought back early because the team had lost Boozer and Lucca, and GMac indicated he felt an obligation to the players not to leave them short-handed. Remember CB supposedly telling GMac that he had no choice? Colvin was not brought back because of his good behavior. If you believe that then you have to say that if Boozer and Lucca had continued to play, then Colvin would still have been brought back early, and I don't think anyone really believes that and there certainly was no indication of that at the time.

Colvin was brought back because GMac apparently felt he needed him to field a complete team. Well, what has changed? Did we pick up another player somewhere that no one knows about? If you so desperately needed one player back then, and it was so important that you even went against your principles supposedly to bring him back early, then how can it be okay to be short one player now?

Something doesn't add up, sorry. If the statement about need was true when you brought Colvin back, then it is true now. If not, why not? Seems more likely that what was said about needing Colvin then was just bs.

With Dendy it is about trust, he must have been deceptive or irresponcible in his actions. With Colvin Mac said he didn't think Colvin understood what it meant to wear the uniform. He brought Colvin back early for the teams benifit at the risk of Colvin still not getting it. I never heard him say that trust was an issue with Colvin. The early signs say that he made the right decision with Colvin. I trust he will make the right decision with Dendy as well.

I wonder this too. If GMac HAD to re-instate Colvin, then how can he possibly afford to suspend Dendy now? Remember all the talk about having enough bodies on the bench? Guess that was just all bs then huh? Where is the fairness here? Colvin walked out on his team and coach. Dendy went home to a family funeral. Granted, he probably should have been back sooner, but does no one else have a problem with how this is being handled? Doesn't this give the appearance of different rules for different players?

Colvin was still suspended, though. It's not like he served absolutely no suspension, it just turned out to be "shortened" for the sole reason that GMac gave a timeline. I understand what you're saying, but at least Colvin served some sort of suspension first before being allowed back on the team.

You can get the same ethical coach from a small college for $250k a year.
