I still call Tampa Bay "Tampa Bay, Tampa Bay" after him repeating it like that at a presser years ago after which the local sports guys started saying Tampa Bay Tampa Bay every time they mentioned TB. I think Dan Barreiro still says that on his radio gig.
Thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends. Although he had a prickly relationship with the press up here, the people that I know that have worked with him say he was a really good guy. One of these people worked for The Boys and Girls Club. She said he was always great with the kids (unlike some of the players cough Warren Moon cough) I guess he really took the time to speak positively to them as a group and always gave plenty of time to talk to them individually.
I got fed up with him as the Vikes coach at the time, but he was one of a kind, and there were so damn fun seasons for the purple and gold in his days.
Sad to hear the passing of coach Green. He had some great teams as the head coach of the Vikings. RIP
At 67 he still should have had many more years to enjoy the money he made coaching with his family.
Him taking a chance on Moss is something every Vikings fan should be thankful for.

Coached one of the greatest "should have been" teams in NFL history. I'll never forget that missed field goal at the end of regulation in the NFC championship game.
Little trivia moment--last team he coached was the Sacramento Mountain Lions of the USFL.
