Deshaunte Jones credited with a start at WRM for 2nd straight game.
Looks like Nigel Tribune and Jay Jones go the start at CBs last week ahead of Jomal Wiltz/Brian Peavy.
Breion Creer makes an appearance 3rd at DT and Pierre Aka drops out.
Josh Jahlas officially listed on top at SLB instead of the "or" with Bobby McMillen III, and also credited with a start for throwing out a 4-3 defense instead of the Star on the base 4-2-5. McMillen might still be hurt from his ankle injury from few games ago and I thought he was not in pads on Saturday.

So Lanning and Warren are still the Starters? Makes me even more confused over how things went down on Saturday?????

If the plan is to be using Park for the long field situations and Lanning for the short field/situational spots, shouldn't Park be listed as the starter?

Saw McMillen Saturday in Shoulder pads and jersey but wearing sweat pants. Walking on his own but looked like he moved a bit gingerly. Still hurting.

I would encourage everybody to look at that start chart to the right for the offense and the defense on the depth chart above.

Not excusing anybody, and 1-7 is not fun, but this is such a young and inexperienced roster at this point. Lots of lessons being learned.

Campos is our second most experienced offensive player and hasn't played a down this year. After him and Lazard, there really isn't all that much else veteran.

Only looking up from here.

Here are some things I would like to see in the last 4 games:

-Payne becomes the #2 punt returner behind Ryen while Lazard never fields a punt again. He runs backwards and there is no sense risking injury to our best player on a punt return.
-Nwangwu get more touches on offense. He is 3rd in the nation in kick return yards. I know he has work to do as a running back, but he is fast and good at working his way down the field. A jet sweep or wheel route might be a good play for him.
-Take Sean Foster off of the depth chart! Why would you play him this late into the season and burn his redshirt? Is he just there for show? Is he there because our line is that thin that he has to be there?
-Keep getting Deshaunte the ball. This kid is getting better by the week and has an amazing future ahead of him. Jauan Wesley... who's that?
-Take more shots deep down the sideline to Lazard and Butler. A PI call is a first down too!
-Keep Bailey as a starter for the rest of the year and leave him on the field more. Get him reps! Another kid with a bright future. Also, get Jamahl Johnson more reps. Prepare for the future and get all the game experience you can for the young guys.

I don't think he said long/short field, he said middle of the field.

This means very little and is something Iowa State is always good at, because the other team is kicking off so much.

I want to say an ISU player (maybe Leonard Johnson?) set a record for kick return yards in a game when ISU gave up like 60 points.

Total return yards is different than yards per return. You don't automatically become good at the latter.

Nwangwu is #4 in kick return yards and #37 in yards per return average. (And he's #6 in the country in number of kick returns.)

To quote from Major League, "The local press seems to think that we'd save everyone the time and trouble if we just went out and shot ourselves. Me, I'm for wasting sportswriters' time. So I figured we ought to hang around for a while and see if we can give 'em all a nice big s**tburger to eat!"

I don't care which particular players are doing it for the Cyclones, but I'd love to see ISU serve up that burger to OU this week. Good luck.

I just wish we could play 12 on offense & defense, would make the game more interesting... I will be missing this game, will be in Tulum celebrating my wife's bday... Have fun, Go State!

I don't think the Park vs Lanning QB decision is final.

Against OU, I think Park gives ISU the best chance to win as he throws the ball down field better and does a better job anticipating guys getting open. It has the potential for high risk/high return. We could see 400 yards passing or 4 interceptions.

At KU, Lanning might give us the best chance to win by going with a power rush, ball control offense. I could see the same philosophy for TT.

Oklahoma State, 2008 I believe.
