Not at all. The kid was injured his entire career.

This was the guy that had to skip his senior year of bball to have surgery on his shoulder. Then I think he got injured again. It just didn't work out with the injuries.

Even with Lemke off the team, we are 4 schollies or so over the limit of 85.

I knew the injuries. Just wondering if he was able to retain his scholarship. Assume with our need for scholarships, the answer is no. Just wondering.

There is a medical scholarship type thing that Pierce Richardson and one of our Olinemen (Bob Graham?) got for the year where they receive their scholarship but it doesn't count against the 85.

I'm not sure if you have to be a certain age or what to get it.

I've never understood the need to pile on a 19 year old kid for making a decision about his future. Thank you for your effort and good luck in the future. Also, as a fan of Iowa State I appreciate you realizing that if your heart is not in the game and/or injuries are going to preclude you from participating, that you spot on the team may be better served elsewhere. Either way, good luck!

The kid missed most of a year due to shoulder problems, and surgery. Is there any particular reeason to get so snarky about him?

Good luck to Devin, with the rest of his life. Thanks for your time as a Cyclone!

Not being snarky. If a kid has been here 3 years and can't crack the two deeps at a thin position, its often best for his football career if he moves on to where he can see the field (if his goal is to play college football).

Devin didn't play basketball in high school. He placed 3rd in 215 class @ state wrestling his senior year. Shoulder issue didn't pop up until getting to ISU as far as I know.

I don't think anyone is asking you to change your opinion. Just. Think. Before. You. Post. Why post a negative comment about a player that did not deserve it?
Simply shortening my post to how you see fit, won't change my opinion. Thanks.

Because you guys in your opinion, thought the last part was negative, doesn't mean it was to me or others. Like I said I appreciate his time and effort, and sucks to see one have to end a career due to injury, but with our recruiting we've had this class with the d-line, it is, in fact not a big loss. It's not shocking to see how you guys would immediately go with that being negative, when in fact it's the truth. Good effort, good try. See ya next time.

When you say things like that, it serves no purpose whatsoever. It is your opinion, which does NOT make it the truth. To end your post with "good effort, good try" ...........how about YOU post that as your ending comment about Mr. Lemke instead of the way you did?

And just like it's my opinion, it's your opinion that I was meaning it in a negative way or needed to shorten my original post, which does not make it the truth. But fact is, we do have JUCO d-line recruits coming in, so that does not make it a huge loss. A loss sure, but the d-line is a position that has only one way to go, hopefully up, and that's a fact. Take your swan song somewhere else, and worry about some other poster being negative, because in fact, I wasn't taking a shot at Lemke. And stop being so sensitive.

If CyDude16 was kicked off this board forever it would be no loss. That's not negative right. I'll agree losing an injured player that is unable to contribute doesn't really effect the team much, but you never know what kind of player he would have developed into without the injury. It may be a very big loss, and it certainly is thoughtless, rude and small of you to declare it to be no loss.

Devin, thanks for your time and dedication to ISU, hope things work out better in the future.

Again, thats your opinion. I'm merely looking at the recruiting we have done with this new class as it not being as big of a loss as it could have been. Thanks for playing.

I think most people understand your opinion and may even agree, but that doesn't mean it needs to be said about a young Cyclone. Sometimes less is more. This is one of those times.

Heard from mutual friends that he's spending some time getting some grades in order. From my interactions with him he's a great guy, and fun to be around, but the shoulder issue kind of piled on and didn't help his motivation in the classroom.

Really hope the best for him and that he can get things back in order whether that involve football or not.
