Do ISU fans have a problem with MU?

Since Mizzou left I've really become an Iowa St fan for Big 12 games. I like Fred Hoiberg and think his loyalty to his hometown and home school is an impressive thing that you have to root for. I went to see Iowa St play in Lawrence this year and the people in my section knew I was rooting for you guys.

I took my wife downtown today for lunch and to spend some time at the Big 12 tournament festivities. We're both Mizzou fans and with Mizzou playing today we had Mizzou shirts on. We saw quite a few Mizzou fans there. We had friendly conversations with fans of most schools but the Iowa St fans were the only ones who were rude to us. Explaining I was rooting for them did nothing. I knew kU was hated by you guys but was surprised to see me and my wife treated like a rival would be treated. Is there a big thing between you guys and us that I didn't realize? And again good luck tonight!!

I was done with Mizzou at "SEC! SEC! SEC! SEC!"

I've always been a Cyclone and I've been a sub-fan of Mizzou, KSU, KU, OSU, and Colorado (i.e., the six Big 8 teams not named Nebraska or Oklahoma). I now couldn't give a crap about Mizzou or Colorado.

conf realignment hasn't been pretty and MU's SEC chant last year didn't win them any new fans. It will all be forgotten in 5 years.

I have no problem with Mizzou fans. Hating people based on what school they attended/cheer for is ridiculous.

Who started all this realignment **** by flirting with the Big Ten (and getting turned down, no less?)

Yep, Missouri. Anyone who claims Nebraska started it isn't being honest with himself.

That said, **** Missouri. As someone's signature here says, "They are free to create an enduring basketball rivalry with Auburn."

Its like one of your family members asking to be removed from your family.

For me, I hated you inbreeds when you were in the Big 6/8/12, and hate you just as much now.

Mizzou leaving was felt by many as a betrayal. They were supposed to stick with their big 8 family. They pulled out the 'instability' excuse, when the big 12 was as stable as ever with everyone else being ready to sign a long term grant of rights that locks everyone in.

What really did it though was their behaviour at the big 12 tournament last year. Pulling the SEC SEC SEC crap. Completely classless.

That said, i'd take them back if they wanted to. I miss having them in the conference.

No more hatred, just totally forgot about them. Did get a good chuckle out of how much they struggled in FB this year when I saw records late in season.

I hated MU until I got to see how bad beaker fans really are and realized I might have had the wrong side on the hate. No issues with MU now.

Ignore the posts just claiming baseless hate. Most of the derision is from abandoning the north schools, a decision that really burned a lot of ISU fans because our school has the most to lose if the Big 12 were to ever dissolve.

Missouri started the whole realignment mess in the Big 12. They did not care what happened to any of the other schools. For me, they have fallen into the same category as Iowa. Well, maybe not quite that low, but only about one peg up. I now root for any team Missouri plays, in any sport.

I have no issue with Montana University.

For the record, the U. of Montana is "UM."

Mizzou is a nobody. No one even cares.

I didn't hate mizzou when they were in the Big 12 but when they started with the SEC chants when they weren't even in the conference yet really ****** me off. Why would you leave a core group of midwestern schools that were geographically close to you to join a bunch of schools with a totally different culture?
