Do ISU fans have a problem with MU?

Yes, I would be in favor of moving it out of Missouri. The Big 12 should have nothing to do with that state any more. Missouri "sec"eded from the Big 12, with no thought or care of how it would affect any of the other schools. It is a slap in our face to still hold our tournament there. If the SEC wants to hold their tourney in Missouri, fine.

Umm No. Kc is the best spot for the Big 12 tourny. OKC would be a distant second but no way should it go back to Dallas again they just don't care about it like the Northern schools and OSU care about it. And I don't give a crap if Misery is not a conference member anymore.

I want to rotate it away from KC but it has zero to do with Missouri and everything to do with KU. A team that regularly has games fixed for it also shouldn't get a permanent home site conference tournament.

I agree it would be dumb to not have it in KC at least half the time though.

I live in Dallas and I can attest. KC is absolutely where it needs to be. It'd be nice for it to be close, but that would just be my selfish POV. The Big 12 is the best conf tourney. It's in a big, but not huge city so it becomes a focal point. You think the majority care about the BE in NYC or the B1G in Chicago? Not a chance.

My wife is in Chicago for a conference, she is a basketball fan and I asked her today if she had seen anything, said she had no clue the B1G was going on, which is the opposite in KC. Keep it there.

There are absolutely no reasons to like Missouri. The University of Missouri has been a "no class" institution as long as I can remember. That is a long time as Sparky was the basketball coach back then and Norm Stewart was the star player. That was in the days when an opposing team would make a steal and then while going in for a layup a Missouri player would undercut them and cause them to land on their back and head. Mizzou can go straight to **** on a one way ticket.

I can honestly say, that until I just saw that headline, I hadn't thought one bit about Mizzou this basketball season.

As long as you didn't go to the actual games with your Mizzou shirt, I don't know why anyone would be upset. It was gameday and you were representing your team. I'd do it, but if I'll never wear my ISU gear going into games for some other school.

Since Mizzou left I've really become an Iowa St fan for Big 12 games. I like Fred Hoiberg and think his loyalty to his hometown and home school is an impressive thing that you have to root for. I went to see Iowa St play in Lawrence this year and the people in my section knew I was rooting for you guys.

I took my wife downtown today for lunch and to spend some time at the Big 12 tournament festivities. We're both Mizzou fans and with Mizzou playing today we had Mizzou shirts on. We saw quite a few Mizzou fans there. We had friendly conversations with fans of most schools but the Iowa St fans were the only ones who were rude to us. Explaining I was rooting for them did nothing. I knew kU was hated by you guys but was surprised to see me and my wife treated like a rival would be treated. Is there a big thing between you guys and us that I didn't realize? And again good luck tonight!!

Gee whiz Cletus, MAYBE it has something to do with your ***hole governor and university prez actively lobbying to get into the B1G and then jumping to the SEC thus putting ISU into a potentially tenuous realignment situation. It's nice to see them as an afterthought in the SEC. **** Mizzwho.

I get why they left, the SEC offers a lot better financial package AT THIS TIME. But it's gonna suck when you can't compete. You have to up your cheating game, to get the players.

As for the tourny leaving KC, ARE YOU HIGH? They just had 19000 in the Sprint center for a KU-ISU game, and how many thousands watching it outside at the Power and Light district. That won't happen in the South, not even OKC.

We can both agree on one thing, **** KU.

I hated Mizzou last year because of realignment, but I'm over that now. No problem with Mizzou now

Mizzou is that dumb broad in high school that gets **** started and then when people try to solve the problem, the dumb broad is no where to be found.

That being said, outside of Mizzou leaving for the SEC, I don't really care. I don't think their fans are the classiest but I won't be rude to a fan unless they've done something to deserve it. It's also kind of nice being able to say 7 of the 8 big 8 schools are going to the dance this year

As a Cyclone stuck in Columbia, Misery, I can say with certainty, these guys suck. I'd cheer for Kansas before I'd cheer for Mizzou. Columbia is a dumpy town in the middle of nowhere. They only wish they had a good reason for leaving. They simply recycle the reasons that aTm left the B12. They are a basketball school with no Final Four appearances (albeit some success). They have one of the most annoying chants (MIZ-ZOU) that they use as much as OU uses Boomer Sooner. Heck, I've had MU fans tell me that they thought the B12 North was the best thing for ISU, forgetting that it was the best thing that ever happened to MU football. They are delusional, over-confident, and as annoying (if not more) than Iowa fans.

And yeah, you wear Mizzou gear to the B12 tourney, you deserve to be trash talked. Have fun traveling to Nashville or NOLA to lose to Ole Miss/Tenn in basketball. Also, Frank Haith sucks.

I'm going to stop before I get too angry. MIZ - LOL!

I can never understand those in this thread that think we should pull out of KC just because it happens to be in the same state as Mizzou.

Pull up google maps:

Sprint center to:

University of Kansas 43 miles
Kansas state university, 125 miles
university of missouri: 127 miles.

So not only do you have 2 other universities that are actually closer to the sprint center than mizzou, you also have ISU only another hour further away, and OSU and OU within 5 hours of KC, wrapping up 90% of the big 12 basketball fans (other than WVU, but lets be honest, their fans are really not going to be considered in terms of placement of this event), as there are about 5 of them in texas.

The only other site that'd make any sense would be Oklahoma City, and i wouldnt mind rotating there every once and awhile, but not because of Mizzou, but just because its another good city for the event (especially if the mens and womens tourneys come back together, it was nice having both arenas just a few feet from each other).

Never, ever should it be in dallas again.

Say what we will about Self and KU, they have not and would not throw the rest of the league under the bus the way MU did. I hate KU's success, but despise MU

I've always liked Mizzou in all sports. I'm a track guy at heart, but I always rooted for them in football against teams like NU and OU. As an academic institution, thy're in the AAU just like ISU (unlike NU), so they represent the top tier of research universities in the nation. For that they have my respect as well.

Well, kumbaya. Sort of reminds me of Frank Burns line in M*A*S*H, "It's nice to be nice ... to the nice." You go ahead on and root for Mizzou. Me, I'm a Cyclone. Mizzou can kiss our you know whats.

Simmer down there zippy. I'm a Cyclone too. I appreciated the rivalry we had with them. It made both programs better. I loved it when they beat NU and OU in anything.

I completely agree on the hatred for Mizzou. Just saw on the new Bracketology that Lunardi has us as a 9 seed playing Missouri. Interesting.

Thoughts on playing either MU or Colorado in the first round of the tournament?
