One thing that always makes me feel good about the future when I get down on the team is to try and step back and put things in perspective.
We are in year three of a huge rebuild. We were 2-10 and on a ten game losing streak before Rhoads. 5-19 in the prior two seasons, with only two Big 12 wins. Under Rhoads we're 18-20, and 9-16 in conference. That's two times the number of wins we'd had the the prior three years, and three times the number of conference wins.
If you had told me after Chizik left that over the next three years we would go 18-20, go to two bowls and win one, beat Nebraska in Lincoln, beat Texas in Austin, and beat a #2 ranked team, I would have told you that you were crazy. I thought we were in for several more painful 3-9 type seasons before things got turned around. Did anybody really expect to be where we are now?
We're still in building mode, but we're going to bowls and getting some huge wins. When has that ever happened at ISU? Great things are ahead.
