this reminds me of some of the message boards on iowa preps (rivals) that I looked at during the hs fb playoffs ...

just random nonsensical online taunts.

and no, I don't want to be a tiger, cause tigers play too rough.:cool:
 
I've only watched the Tecumseh, NE highschool team. It was a really sad year. The players play both offense and defense. But in their first few games their best players got hurt. Their QB broke his leg.
 
I'm still really unclear how this even became a topic... Is it that the SH Hawks and RS Norsemen secretly wish they were Tigers???

One of my friends went there and i dont have anything against them.
 
I went to Ames so every HS student to come through Ames has a little hate for Gilbert.
 
I wasn't even aware of what Gilbert's mascot was, and I grew up 15 minutes from the town.
 
High school rivalries crack me up. A good portion of my good friends I met in college were my "rivals" in high school.
 
I hate them because AJK4ST8 does. We Wartburgers stick together.
Truthfully, I passed through the town once because I forgot to take an earlier right turn leaving Ames.

Speaking of HS rivalries. The head coach of our biggest rivals in HS hired me to coach under him when he took a different job a few years later.
 
Gilbert ended my high school basketball career after we owned them for 2 years and a game after we upset a ranked SHamilton team in Jewell....urghh...18 years later and I still can get pissed about that!!!

Also a R-S alum. Never hated Gilbert because we owned them in everything, but my disdain back then for SHamilton was high but became friends with alot of them in college and 13 years later married one.

"Glory days, ya they'll pass you by glory days...." Can't get that song out of my head now!!!
