Do you listen to music in a different language?

If you like music from the 80s there is a lot of great French music that still has the same kind of sound. Since I've been living abroad for so long I listen to a lot of French and Italian music.

Where they love the governor
Sometimes Pearl Jam comes on Pandora and I can't understand a god damn thing he says, so I assume it's Greek or something, so I'll say yes.

Tejano music is big down here amongst the general laborer population. So I get to listen to that as I run by.

Seu Jorge's Portuguese covers of David Bowie songs from A Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou are awesome.

I also occasionally listen to a band that's referred to as the Mexican Beastie Boys called Plastilina Mosh. Their Aqua Mosh album is pretty decent.

Since you brought up Bowie, I got into a lot of German music because of his Berlin Trilogy. Kraftwerk mostly, but also Can, Neu, and some other krautrock stuff.

For you record collectors out there, if you can get your hands on a clean German pressing of Bowie's "Heroes", he sings three of the verses in German on the title track.

I think I also have a Police single with Da Doo Doo Doo in Spanish on one side and Japanese on the other. One side of the sleeve had Sting wearing a huge sombrero and the other side he's pictured with about six cameras/straps around his neck.

Kpop and Jpop all the time, it's definitely all about the beats and rhythms.

I have a couple playlists on my Ipod filled with Latin Jazz, Boogaloo, Bossa Nova, other dance forms but mostly stuff in jazz scales.

There are some trendy reissue labels out there like Numero Group, Light in the Attic, Soundway, or Analog Africa that make a small industry out of re-releasing old records from tiny scenes for the collector nerds. When you put them together its a ton of older weird records that were only getting released in one part or one tiny country. Its all about stuff like Yemeni jazz recorded in Isreal in the seventies:
