Do you need a student ID to use the rec center?

The Rec has become huge D-bags about the cards and scanning!! I remember coming back to visit and just flashing my card after graduation, then sometime in '06 I think they started this whole scanning deal! ******* jag offs!!

Yeah it is really horrible for them to actually try to enforce the rules. How dare they only allow people that are paying for the facility to use it!

If you park at the SW Athletic Complex you can get to the CC course from there and also there is an outdoor 400 meter track.

As long as you kept your ISU card you were allowed in....now you have to have it scanned, and if your not a student (even if your an alumni) you have to pay. Didn't I pay enough when I was there? Hell, if you live in the state of Iowa and pay taxes, you pay for the rec because it's a public institution.

I can't find the exact number, but the only part of your tuition that paid for the use of the rec and the other Rec Services sponsored activities--namely, intramurals, among other things--was something like $106 a semester. Not a lot for a facility you can use from 5AM-Midnight during Fall and Spring semester, if you ask me. And for full disclosure, I was a student employee for rec services during my time at ISU, and had some people be very, very horrible to me in regards to the cards, which is why I am posting. Adding a little perspective! :)

Gee, I pay taxes in Iowa, went to ISU, so does that mean I can walk into any lab on campus and conduct experiments, or use the vet clinic for my dog free of charge?
No.

Can I walk into Jack Trice Stadium on Saturday evening, say around 6 PM, for free? :jimlad:

Sure, the gates are open. The ATC staff there til around 7-8 depending on what sports are in for treatment. There really is no security around the field at all except the before games.
