Record crowd at CWF was 36,690 (1972 vs Nebraska). The west stands were smaller than any other section of the stadium because Sheldon Ave. ran behind them.

Thanks for the info to you-"theshadow"! Great photo of Clyde Williams Field. I was in the SE corner at that 1972 Nebraska game. We tied the score at the end of the game with a touchdown and the place went nuts. Nebby was coming off a National Championship and Majors had the team pumped up. Anyway, so much commotion that no one noticed that Tom Goedgen missed the extra point to win the game. I was in Lincoln for the big win for Rhodes last Fall. It was a complete different atmosphere with 85,000 Big Red fans sitting in stunned disbelief. Glad I can say I witnessed both games!

What is a "Big 12" stadium? Jack Trice has a similar capacity to most of the Big 12 stadiums

Except it's closer to 53,000, and how many of those schools have 4 hillsides? How many have the winky dinky press box we have? How many don't have permanent seating in either endzone? How about the awesome sound system? Kent State has a nicer video board/sound system than we do. Capacity at Jack Trice Stadium, for all intents and purposes, is 45,000 seats. Go into our locker room and facilities in the Jacobson/Olson Buildings...they're laughable compared to the rest of the conference. Thank God for the JMIPF.
