Had a coworker get one of those when we went WFH. He's no longer with the company.

Another trick is - go to youtube and click on music videos to watch (set the youtube player to silent). It will keep cycling through videos and keep your computer from going to sleep. As a bonus it most of the time keeps your "Teams" dot green. LOL

Yep, most companies have tools that will sniff stuff like that out pretty quickly

A lot of monitoring software will look for Caffeine right out of the box, so be careful.

The manual, physical mouse mover is your safest bet if you want to avoid detection.
Yeah, I figure they may already know and are going to call me out on it at some point. My IT guy had to remote in to my machine the other day and had to have seen it in my system tray, but didn't say anything.

My company has been trying to get people back into the office and I bet their next step is to have people agree to strict monitoring if they choose to stay at home. I guess I'll be back to pretending to work on a spreadsheet for 4 hours a day in the office.

I think that I'd get a different job as quick as possible! I can't stand not being busy.

Still doesn't help when someone IM's you or tries to call you. You can have that green dot all day and if you don't respond someone's going to know you're not actually there.

Yeah, I agree. I am always near my computer and respond to pings and calls right away. I just don't feel I need to be tied to my computer all the time.

That's why you have the sound on youtube silenced but the sound on your computer at full blast. Then you hear the notifications.

If you are sitting there just watching TV or whatever you'll hear the notifications
