Yeah the only thing working in Woods favor in a second matchup is he'll probably be in better shape than he was yesterday. For Casey there is far more positives to take. Scored the only takedown, was never in much trouble from neutral, first time in that type of environment, got screwed on the stalling calls, first time going under a guy like that.

I like Casey's chances at NCAA's. Real can run in Carver, but those track shoes wont work at NCAA's where he boasts a whopping 5-5 record.

My recap:
125 - Cabanban did what he needed to. Weathered that first period storm and got Spencer to gas. Solid performance.
133 - Good, solid win. Clearly the better wrestler, but would have liked to see a little more.
141 - One thing I haven’t seen talked much about is Casey’s weight. To put that kind of energy out 1 hour off the scale is huge. Really tells me he’s doing all the right things. He proved he’s right there with the absolute best in the country. Sky is the limit.
149 - I’m so happily surprised with Paniro. With the known problems with his gas tank in the past I thought this might be the perfect storm for the problems to rise up again. The added stress from the Carver environment plus going against such a grinder in Murin. Paniro has proven he is legit.
57 - Did not expect this to be close. We’re not good here.
65 - Carr handled this far easier than I thought. Kennedy is very good, but appears like he’s going to be another Hawkeye who can’t generate offense against top talent.
74 - I’m bummed about this one, but think the coaches made the right call. Good experience for Gaitan. Hope he can grow to a full sized 74 by next year.
84 - Coleman was never in any danger, but I was a bit disappointed in his effort. Feel like he knew he’d be able to score on a bad Assad shot so didn’t initiate much offense. Needed to open up more.
97 - Bastida is a stud and a title contender. He got too hyped up and stopped wrestling. Need to get one more td to ice it.
Hvy - Schuyler fought hard and did better than most thought. I think he’s a border line AA, but there is a big gap outside of the top few. 6-8 is there for the taking.

This is well done. Spot on.

Very good analysis, imo.

Guessing we won’t see Redding again this year, at least not at 133. Ramazan is solid.

157 just is what it is. We won’t be good there all year. Just have to avoid bonus in the close duals.

I’m excited to see what kind of improvements MJ can make at 174 throughout the year, but I thought yesterday was a bad time to try it. I get it though.

Not exactly sure.
Over the next 12 months, we need to form a committee to find a way to fill Hilton for this dual with only Cardinal and Gold and make Iowa miserable. We will win that dual, but I want TnT embarrassed and uncomfortable
Have someone hold up large math flash cards. I think anything that requires smarts makes them uncomfortable.

Not shocking at all if this did in fact take place. Curious if there has been any sort of backing to this statement from people close to where it happened? Not holding my breath any iowa fans would do the right thing and admit it but maybe someone?

This is a very big thing to put out there without any substance.

Lol that first stall is beyond comical to me.

At the end at the 10:00 mark I can't make out what casey completely said but I did catch Stall in there. Maybe Hell of a stall buddy

And them dumb ***** in the background cough terry with their ******* stall wave like their guy didn't wear out his track shoes in the last minute

I'm not a wresting guy, but I wouldn't want to face Swiderski again if I were that Hawkeye wrestler.

Thanks for posting. It was fun to watch again. My thoughts:
1. I agree with you on the first stall call.
2. Casey got exposed in the down position... He (and the coaches) know that this needs to be improved.
3. I love his fire and aggressive style. You can see the self belief that he has in himself

It seems like Carr, then Coleman are our best guys on top. Too bad they are too big to really work with Casey.

1st stall is an absolute joke. Casey has to learn to get out from bottom, but that was damn near a 2 minute parallel ride with no top action. Woods can act all tough if he wants, but he was scared in the 3rd. When Casey took him down on the edge, flipped position and drug him back, Woods was scared for his life. He didn’t even fake a forward move after that and literally ran away twice.

That match pisses me off to no end.
