CMC deserves a ton of credit and all the accolades, but Heacock has been his biggest signing. This defense has the program on the edge of greatness two years in a row, and Heacock and company designed it on the fly during a bye week. Amazing utilization on the roster and I;m excited to see them recruit to it now.

I'd say the DL, we've had really good LB's and DB's in the past here but the line has always been a weak spot. It starts with Bailey and Lima but Johnson, Uwazurike, Lee, Leo, Benton, Tonga and McDonald have all filled in at times and been productive.

Pretty sure he was the goal line stand on that one play. Turned his man into the play, and held out two KU blockers and the ball carrier.

Datrone Young and Anthony Johnson have definitely made me happy. Losing Peavy and Payne next year is big but seeing those young guys step up helps relieve some worries

As many have said, there really isn't anything to be unhappy about on the defense. Other than Enyi getting hurt I suppose.

But what makes me the MOST happy : YOUTH on the D-line. There's a lot of dudes in the pipeline for next year and beyond. This defense will stay good.

Spencer Benton and Tongomoa are the only Seniors on the depth chart.

Juniors: JaQuan Bailey, Johnson, Leo, Lima
Sophs: Josh Bailey, Enyi
Frosh: Lee, Robertson

McDonald has looked good too.

A lot of great players to choose from but Eisworth is my favorite. And this is his first year playing major college fooball. I think he has a very high ceiling and will eventually be playing in the NFL.

If an opponent has a chance to throw a male hairy (er, hail mary) at the end of a game, I would be shocked if Butler wasn't in defending the goal line.
