The Wooden Award voting window for media is March 15-22.

"Voting will take place from March 15th to March 22nd, and voters take into consideration a player’s entire season of play, as well as the opening rounds of the NCAA Tournament."
Which would start today. I am sure they have moved the timeline some but still it isn't a total view of the dance. I get your point though.

Isn't this the kid that had a rivalry with THT in high school?

If so, I think Talen got the better end of that deal. ;)

Yes. We may have gotten THT anyway but seems like the rivalries between Chicago AAU teams meant Ayo's "people" told Illinois they couldn't also take Tucker from the rival team, or they wouldn't supply players to Illinois anymore. So Illinois took Ayo and future prospects, and ISU got THT.

NBA mock Fox draft has Garza going to the Brooklyn Nets with the 27th pick. They really are telling the truth here!

"This one is a polarizing talent when it comes to NBA projections. Too slow. Couldn’t defend a chair. Garza, who is shooting 45% on 3-pointers this season, projects as a stretch-5 in the pros. He leads the country in offensive rating and is also tops in Player Efficiency Rating. His ceiling is probably Frank Kaminsky’s best year (11.7 PPG, 4.5 RPG) so far in the pros."

Ayo is a good player. This is a nice award for him. But the only ones that really matter are the Wooden and the Naismith.

Which retroll are you now? Why does this post sound eerily similar to the ones that hawk trolls say quite often on here, "didn't want him anyway"?

Talen dominated Ayo in high school matchups and in the one game they played against each other in college.

Wow, Illinois got the better end of that deal by a long ways.

Don’t get me wrong, Ayo is an absolutely fantastic player. But how does he win national player of the year when his team went 3-0 without him, including a win at #23 Wisconsin and destroying #2 Michigan at their place? Iowa’s a .500 team without Garza.
