This thread truly represents the ugliness and mayhem associated with internet cheating contests. I'm going to get started on the screenplay.
Email reply to my complaint... "Thank you for your email, we appreciate your support of the Capital One Mascot Challenge! We worked diligently to ensure all votes cast for both mascots where authentic. It is important to us that the Capital One Mascot Challenge be legitimate.
We're excited to see fans so passionate about their mascots in the competition so far, but it appears some fans are a little too passionate. During Week 2 unfair voting activity inflated the vote totals of several mascots. All those irregular votes have been identified and discounted. As a result, the final outcome of the matchup between Big Blue and Cy has been changed. No other outcomes were impacted and, as always, measures are in place to ensure this is a fair competition. "

I think the fans of Iowa State deserve an explanation as to why Cy lost after clearing defeating the cheating fans from ODU. Now I look like an idiot to all my friends who I sent emails, facebook messages and text messages to to tell them that it was crunchtime and we had to get out the vote. Clearly, your system is a joke now. I'm not sure if you are aware how badly ODU is cheating in this little contest you have going, but it is quite pathetic when they have message board threads going explaining how to vote over and over as fast as possible and often as possible. At least ISU does it the right way. If this problem isn't fixed, and ISU's victory isn't restored, I'm very positive there will be a very large boycott from the ISU faithful. The least we deserve is an explanation!!!
Has anyone got a logical explanation to this? How did we cheat, and how didnt they? It seems from what I have gathered that we did no more than they did, we just did it better.
My Capital One card is now cancelled. I dont' think it really did a darn thing. I'm sure the person I spoke to on the phone, probably won't even pass along my message.
While this ******** is fun and all, ISU is currently getting smoked by about 40K by Aubie in the 3rd round. People just giving up on this thing?
We didn't give up, Auburn is the only school with more votes than us. Both Auburn and ODU are voting against us.
Not going there. I've had a Capital One card for about ten years, and had great customer service from them on the credit card side, and their fraud detection works very well.
