I thought the UT was a big game. We lost and it will bother me for a long while, but a nut kick it wasn’t.

Regarding the Texas game: I've developed a strange perspective about that one, given overall season performance and (especially) recent results since then. UT loss "feels" like it was a blowout loss. Eye-test, it wasn't pretty, but final score was 17-7. So — Iowa State's worst outing so far was a 2-score game vs. a conference opponent.

TCU defense is the best in the BIG 12, even better than Texas. I am afraid they may pick one or two of our screen passes and take it to the house.

By most of our metrics, this is true.

7th nationally in AdjD, five spots ahead of Texas, and thus 1st in the Big 12. This is with facing the 5th toughest set of offenses this season (heavily impacted by previous matchups vs OSU and WVU).

They're allowing opponents to gain only 31.4% of available yards, which is tops in the conference and ahead of..... Iowa State (34.3%).

Anyone thinking we can move up and down the field against TCU with little to no trouble is in for an uncomfortable time at Jack Trice tomorrow.

I don't know how people like you enjoy watching athletics. You go into it thinking the worst (in our case because we usually suck) and probably situationally say things like "statistically we won't make it here" or "well, the odds of this are pretty ******,"...tell me that's not what you do.

The elements you can't analyze are effort and will and determination. You can't analyze the human spirit...there is no measure for that...and THAT, and THAT ALONE (along with the aforementioned), is what will make the

IOWA STATE CYCLONES defy your statisical analysis and WIN against the TCU Horned Frogs!!!!

I'm tired. Go State!

Like a lot of the fanatics, I have been a fan for far too many years and worn the nut cup too many times. Do I believe? YES. Do I prepare myself for kick? YES. This all reminds me of Rhoads' last year when CW was letting us know how good we were going to be and then we went out and lost to UNI. That night CW gets lit up by a fan for leading us down the primrose path. We all want to believe but the incredible let downs over the years have us all a little jaded. GO CYCLONES! I will be there Saturday cheering my head off.

Looks like the CF staff should read this article, including the writer. Based on their predictions this week they still need a little proof to believe. Even if you think they will lose deep down, hasn't this team shown you enough to have blind faith? Until they prove me wrong I am saying they win every week from here on out. It's not worth being right to go against the team, even though I honestly think they win this thing. I'm also the guy that puts ISU in the championship every year in my NCAA BB bracket.

That isn't my prediction... it is the prediction from the algorithm used at cfbanalytics.com (the college football data site I run with Dan Becker).

The algorithm likely predicted losses at OU, and TTU also. We're performing above expectations. There's no reason to not believe that it's possible this week as well. I believe.

EL OH EL.

A) I enjoy athletics very much
B) There are definitely aspects in sports that are hard to quantify, but there's a reason advanced analysis has taken off in nearly every major sport that exists. The eye is easily tricked, and one would argue it's tricked even easier for most fans.

TCU has a very solid defense, Iowa State is playing well right now. Both of those are facts. So too are the facts that TCU is a hard team to sustain offense against, and Kyle Kempt was a career 3rd stringer until three weeks ago.

with all due respect, you can take your stats and shove them up your arse! :)

And I mean that in the nicest way I can....

YOU CAN"T MEASURE THE HUMAN SPIRIT!!!!!!!!!!!!

God Bless ISU!!!!
