It will cost the AD around $1.25 million extra to fire Prohm this year compared to next. We all know this ship isn’t turning around and there is NO WAY Prohm should be given the opportunity to finish 9th or 10th in the league again for the 4th out of 5 years. Fan apathy will cost more than that next year.

It has to happen after this year. But in-season isn’t a good look and doesn’t matter. We’ll be looking for a new coach in March.
If we do let him go and pay the buyout at end of this year, would the buyout stop or decrease if Phrom got another job within the next 2-3 years?

Sorry, Tinsley was absolutely shaving points. We weren't supposed to lose, just not cover. It's why at the end of the game he came, grabbed the ball, went end to end, but missed the damn layup. Sorry for popping the bubble on that guys.

Oh yeah that makes a lot of sense - 17.5 point favorites and you choose to get down, then grab the ball and go coast to coast out of desperation. Brilliant.

I’m starting to think there is no way Prohm is back next year. You cannot sell it in any way, shape, or form with the fan base.

So for the players sake, I hope they can get a few Ws to close out the year. They work too hard to go winless.

Choose to get down????? I also will not fault Bolton, he needed to make something happen.

I don’t think you have to worry about that.

anyone have a mountain west schedule? Need to see when unlv’s season is over, so we have an idea when tj’s press conference will be

You are just now starting to think that?

I didn’t think Pollard would do it and blame money and the pandemic. I think if we had managed to win 5-6 conference games, he MIGHT be able to get away with it. But this team is heading towards 0-18 or maybe 1-2 wins and there is no coming back from that.

@Cat Stevens thinks that Steve Prohm should be on the Mount Rushmore of college basketball coaches with Coach K, Dean Smith, and John Wooden

,

Shouldn’t you be pumping your mommy and daddy for information about their friends who are going to quit buying basketball tickets so you can run over here and tell everyone your parents are important?

Anybody want to talk about Jamal Tinsleys brother driving around in a brand new 4 Runner after Hampton?

We have broken our fair share of rules. What Sampson did isn't even a violation anymore.
Agents front $$ so kids can get new cars all of the time, don't they ?;)

If we end the year strong Prohm will be back. By strong I mean maybe keeping games close. Covid might save his ass in a few ways. Budget shortfall and built in excuse of losing half the team midway through the season

you really think so? I don’t.

realistically, JP has to be able to sell at least some hope. If this group 0-fers, even if they improve, there will be no hope to sell.

he came back this year, because of the big 12 tourney title two years ago, and the freshman class.

there is nothing remotely like that occurring now.

Prohm could win out the regular season and he still shouldn't be back.
It is an interesting question. What we he have to do to make you want him back next year?

Win out, win the big 12 tournament and make the NCAA?

Win a game in the NCAA Tournament?

Before the season I thought Prohm would be back regardless due to covid/financials. It would be difficult to fire him if Iowa State made the tournament this year. For me personally, it would take at least a Sweet 16 to consider having him back. Even then our lows have been so low.

Has to come back at that point to defend the conference tourney title. Plus epic troll points.
